Can we really defend our country in times of an invasion from some other countries? are we capable of defending it? what are your plans if we are invaded by other countries what would you do? ... ;D

if we dont have any allies we cant defend for squat. but if ever we do get into a war with other countries and we dont have any allies the best way our soldiers can do is "guerilla warfare". works everytime when facing a stronger force.

I don't think we really are capable of doing so.... that is.....depending the country from any foreign intrusion  . Now , that's a very sad and pitiful reality but to live up with it, I agree with Patacat, We can be another Vietnam.Snipe and hide type of warfare is our only hope but of course with some aids coming from our allies. Our elder countrymen once lived up to this type of war method and with no doubt , it can be done again if ever the need arises  . |

maybe we can build a secret base and build our own super robot like the japs do. hahahaha. or we could pollute our country so bad that no one would want to invade it. hahahaha. sorry guys couldnt help myself.
but seriously, with the lack of technology and funds we wiil be eaten alive.

hard to admit it, but we arent
prepared for any such an event b'coz of these factors...
our reserved officers are not fully equiped & properly trained
vintage equipment such as tanks & planes & ships..etc...etc....
corrupt officials
Govt dosent give any d**n contingency plan or long term plan for the Armed Forces
maybe the question should be:
are u willing to fight for your country when an invasion occured?
even if ur country doesnt even give a d**n thing about ur well being???

Excuse me fellas, but who or which country in its right mind would want to conquer our beloved Philippines? We've been virtually quartered and subdivided into varying spheres of influence. Shades of early 20th century China.
Remember World War 2? All our heroic grandparents' effort....all for naught. Sacrifice and then what? The slimy @ssholes crawl of their hidey holes and continue to suck up whatever is left of the country.
We were given independence by America (smart move for the Gringos, 'cause the only reason we were invaded by the japanese was that of our being an American colony, so all the damage we took was because of them, then what, we get CHARGED with LOANS for RECONSTRUCTION?) who were left behind to run our country? So called "nationalists" who kept their dual citizenship status just in case of you know what................I'm willing to bet ALL my transformers collection that the most die hard ultra nationalist politico today is a card carrying US citizen!
The politicians who hid during the war came scampering back and pocketed all the reparations meant for a veterans..........you know who he is........(hint: Php 100). You can check the tumultous late 40's historical references if you like.
It sure isn't worth it! I too want to sacrifice my well being for this country, and sure I don't expect any reward.........true heroes only fade back into the background, but if I hear some rabble rousing politico like big ears and the like exhorting us to make more sacrifices I'm gonna puke and join the monastary in Shangrila. (or is it Cobra La?)

We can defend our country, if we wanted to. But for how long, we cannot determine. Sad to say, kulang tayo sa technology but we compensate for ingenuity. I have a cousin who is a soldier and pag mano-o-mano, kaya natin ang kalaban. Our advantage is archipelago tayo. We can transfer from a point to the other. Sometimes, we are enamoured by the technology of the super powers but if push comes to shove, duon lalabas ang pagiging matapang nang Pinoy. If war erupts, I'll make sure that my family will be safe and just fight, a good fight and see where it would take me.

sad to say, it was a few months ago when the F-5 freedom fighter was decommissioned by the PAF.
we really can't defend ourselves in our current status, but as foreign policy suggests, we're having a mutual alliance with the US. So we help them in war (like in IRAQ) and they help us too in case of war in our side.

i'd say it depends... the invading forces is from another 3rd world country then i think the AFP have a good chance of defending the country, but if its from the 2nd world country i guess we could put up a pretty good resistance. but if its from the 1st world country, hmm open city anyone?
then again, and if ever, why would the Philippines be invaded? for plunder such as what saddam did to kuwait? or the ethnic cleansing in bosnia? then i'd say put up a good fight in defense of the country and its ideals... but if its for conquest (you know like expanding some empire or the sort), maybe we should think about it? Hongkong did well under the british rule, so as hawaii from the U.S.
my opinion of course, all to his own.
