i think we surely can defend our country the only problem is we lack the technology that other country has. If we have those technology in our hand i think we can defend it very well. The problem is we don't have them. I think we are the only country who is defenseless we are only depending on our troops but what about the Navy or the Air Force. We don't have those big cruisers, destroyers in our water. We don't have those Mig-29, Mig-27, or kahit Mig-21 man lamang to defend our air space. Those two are the very important factors in defending our country the Air and the Sea sadly we don't have them. We only have is the vintage World War II thug boat, or the tora tora in the air. Haaay kawawa naman ang Pilipinas. I think we need to strengthen or modernize our Armed Forces if we wanted to defend our country. Napapag iwanan na tayo ng Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand they have those hi-tech arsenals like tanks and planes we don't have tanks we only have is the APC or Armored Personnel Carrier. I think if we ought to invade a country the only thing that we could invade is Borneo hehehe. What happened to Mr. Ex-President Ramos AFP modernization plan nawala na as in kapoot no more. So sad.

Kung lahat tayo magbubundok and gagayahin natin style ng mga vietnamese nung vietnam war (guerilla warfare, underground tunnels) we have a slim chance especially if its a protracted war. But it would be a phyrric victory for sure.

we can't. we don't have the political will, the training, the equipment, the weapons, the technology. one thing we can do, though. suck in the americans and let them do the shooting and the bleeding. with the republicans in washington, they are still fanatic adherents of the domino effect. the communists may be out of the picture, but the terrorists are the boogeyman that will compel the americans to do something. i'm not that pro-american, but i guess i read enough history to know that in international relations, everyone looks after themselves and their own interests. our geographical location is very strategic to the interests of the US and they can't afford to lose their hold on us to the chinese, communists, terrorists or any other enemy they might see.
