i dont know if you've heard this, guys... but please check the link below and read.... www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopage/ppa/qa.htmPhenylpropanolamine, an ingredient of our very reliable "gamot sa sipon" like Neozep, Bioflu, Sinutab, etc... Too much use increases the risk for " Hemorrhagic stroke"... what i hate about this is that when i sense a cold coming, i take Sinutab ASAP and it really really helps... I hate colds... now what will i do??? |

Ask your doctor about this. I also take medicines with the same ingredient for my sinusitis. Just don't worry too much. A professional's advice/advise will be more helpful to ease your anxiety.

i don't think this is harmful when we only taking this when we have colds. that is not "too much". unless you're addicted to it, right? 
still, it's better to ask physician with this.

it's just a warning. all meds in the US containing this ingredient has been recalled.
it would someday be harmful to someone who has a sensitive sinus or allergies and has the habit of taking this drug instead of a pricey anti-histamine... i wouldn't risk it especially with my family. it's hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding of the brain) we're talking about here. it'd be wise to inform our loved ones especially those with hypertension.
i think we need our MD member to confirm this? wingseyemd perhaps?

Darn it I have taken a bioflu because I dont have a biogesic with me late at night cause I have slight fever ... Biogesic is still the best medecine for fever and flu ... I hope Biogesic dont get the same as warning as other medecine. What others have said is right dont drink medecine immediately or too much consult your doctor first before doing it so.

I almost always prescribe this drug to all my patients who comes in with nasal congestion since aside from being an Ophthalmologist am also an ENT specialist. As quoted : " Too much use increases the risk for Hemorrhagic stroke"-hehehe, It only means avoid abuse guys ...... for simple colds just take a lot of oral fluids like water and juices. Most of the time colds are due to a virus, hence after a few days it will be gone. All we need to do is strengthen our immune system by taking fluids and Vit. C PLUS have a lot of rest. Remember..... take meds only if really necessary |

Remember..... take meds only if really necessary Just to share something. Last week, my ulcer acted up again. I took Ibuprofen for a couple of days to kill my toothache. Unfortunately, this triggered my ulcer and I was on sick leave for 3 days. It wasn't a good experience and I learned it the hard way. So basically, we just have to be careful with drinking over the counter medicines and just drink the recommended dosage. |

i must say, BIOFLU is very effective.... i had a fever last week, like, 39 degrees.... i thought it'd last for 3 days or so... but it lasted for only a few hours (less than 24) in just one tablet...
