do any of you guys use a blackberry phone/pda?

i'm thinking of upgrading to a blackberry pearl soon and i'm wondering if the globe or smart prepaid service will also work on the pearl. or will i be required to use a post-paid service for this?

also, is the pearl already available in the philippines (preferably unlocked)?
