hi there! yo anybody tried shopping in ebay worldwide? i need help, how do i pay for the item i have won and how about the shipping and handling fees? plus, how fast and how safe is the shipping from US to Philippines? thanks!

hi there. each item/seller has his own payment preferences - from money orders to personal checks to paypal and bidpay. more often than not, the seller would accept paypal. this means you would have to set up an account (with a valid credit card) at www.paypal.com. when you start out, you'll be given a "sending limit" (similar to a credit card's credit limit), but if you get verified (by adding your bank account info), you can waive the sending limit. when you purchase or win an item on ebay, the seller usually sends you an invoice, detailing the total purchase, including shipping and handling charges. some sellers give the buyers shipping options, such as air mail, surface mail, UPS or FedEx depending on what item you're buying. please note that you will bear any customs fees once the item reaches the philippines.  instructions on how to use ebay and paypal are pretty straightforward. to have a safer buying experience, try to by only from those whose feedback scores are in the high 90s. if you can, look for sellers with 100% feedback (and make sure this was obtained from many transactions). the feedback score will tell you more or less that the seller is trustworthy and will deliver the goods. hope this helps! ;D |

yo thanks bruticus! just a question, how will i pay for the custom fees when the item reaches the philippines? will i pay that to the mailman when he delivers the item or do i get a mail then i go to the post office to pay for fees and claim my item? i really really really hope that the package gets to me asap when it reaches the philippines.

no problem, bro. i think the mailman will give you a slip of paper that says you have a package to claim at your nearest post office. you may have to pay for the fees at the post office. not really sure about this (sorry, bro, i'm based in canada right now so i don't have a clear idea how the customs fees are paid.) don't worry about the item arriving safely. sellers usually pack the materials well so it won't get damaged in transit. good luck, bro. ;D |

how long does it take for an item to ship from US to Philippines using USPS Airmail? i had a package sent last week by the seller and still hasn't arrived.

if it's regular airmail, be prepared to wait another two weeks fo it to arrive and clear customs.
the postal service can be very unpredictable. sometimes it takes 2 weeks for a package from seattle to arrive at my door in vancouver. if you drive this distance, it actually takes less than 3 hours...

how long does it take for an item to ship from US to Philippines using USPS Airmail? i had a package sent last week by the seller and still hasn't arrived. From my exprience the 4-6 weeks period is pretty accurate. But be prepared to wait for a full month and a half before it gets to you. There even came a time that I got the package 2 months after it was shipped from the US. But that was for toys that were shipped in a box, if the item that was shipped to you were in a padded envelope or is not that heavy, 3 weeks is a safe assumption. |

wow, that long? i ordered from a seller in ebay 2 1/2 wks ago and it still hasnt arrived. been wondering where in limbo did the shipment go? at least now i have an idea how long that takes, and hopefully it's still in transit. but geez, customs fees??? guess i should expect highway robbery. Any ideas how much fees a $10-20 toy will fetch? thanks, you guys have been most helpful

i got an item shipped last feb 28. it arrived at our local post office march 12. took about 8 business days thru USPS airmail. it's ayt. they only charged me what was stated in the "pick up" card which was P35.00. the item that i bought is MISB White Tierzord for $15.00......anyway, my prob is that i had another package which was sent before feb28 and still hasn't arrived.

If shipped via USPS, the seller should have given you a tracking number for it. Just wait for the notice from the Post Office about your package. You may also contact the seller of the item so he can help you track the package. I hope this helps.

ok thanks for the heads-up on how much to expect to pay for in the post office. mine was ordered before feb 28, and i'm still waiting. the usps shipment had a tracking number, but i'm still waiting for the seller to reply for that piece of info... thanks guys!

i have the tracking number but until now the usps site still has no record of the parcel. i emailed the seller to double check the item and the tracking number
