Hey guys, I just got back from Australia and I have nothing but good words for this country (or is it continent)... Australians are nice people. They are very courteous, kind, fun and easy to deal with.
Anyway, toys are more accessible here in the Philippines. Collectibles are relatively harder to get in Australia and prices are about the same. It is with this reason that I did not get much collectibles... but the memories I got from this trip makes everything worthwhile.
The first stop I made is in Warner Bros. Movie World in Gold Coast. As they say, this is Hollywood at the Gold Coast. The picture below was taken at the entrance of Movie World
Upon entering the huge compound, two batman related rides will great you -- Batman Adventure: The Ride 2 and Batwing Spaceshot
here's the entrance of Batman Adventure: The Ride 2
... the first stop is Wayne Manor Library, through the shadowy Batcave and onto untested tracking modules for the ride of a lifetime!
In a thrilling chase through the streets of Gotham City, you will help Batman and Batgirl in their quest to defeat the villainous Joker, Catwoman and Mr Freeze to retrieve the Whitney Diamond. Every jolt, every turn and every lurch is experienced as advanced computer technology makes the free flight sensation seem real and the battle frenzied.
Batwing Spaceshot
The batwing spaceshot will propel you up a 60 meter pole at an amazing speed (reaching 4.5G's)... followed by a drop into a breathtaking negative descent - beyond freefall.
...that's me on the right
Beside these 2 rides are replica of the batmobile and the batboat from Batman Forever.
I was also lucky enough to catch Batman and Robin for a photo op
... later in the afternoon... Catwoman showed up and posed for picture hungry tourists like me
...adjacent to these rides, you can see a replica of WB studios...
There's also the Superman Escape rollercoaster ride. Unfortunately, it was close due to it's annual maintenance... This rollercoaster ride travels from 0 to 100 KPH in 2 seconds...
check out the height of the ride... before it drops you at 100 KPH.
Another sight to behold is the Gotham City Cafe (Gotham City Hall backdrop) where they serve a wide array of burger combos named after Batman's many adversaries.
There are other attractions at Movie World that I will further elaborate on at a later time... among which are the following
The Matrix Exhibit
... I will also inform Matrix Philippines and our other New World Alliance buddies about this...
The 1:1 Mystery Machine
... the Harry Potter Souvenir shop, Shrek 4D adventures, etc...
