I've been browsing thru this site and I can't seem to see any comic book collectors here. Im talking about Western comics such as Marvel and DC, and Im not talking about Manga. That's why i didn't post this thread at the Manga section. Manga is a whole different ballgame from Western Comics. I'll post some of my collections later. Peace!

To start this thread, here is what I acquired last December and this is truly a prized possession for me. It's Batman: Year One by Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli. This is the definitive Batman origin. It's a lousy shot but i'll fix the camera shots later. I just wanted to give a taste of what comics I am collecting.

i'm also a comic book collector before. started way back 1992. remember those 'CHROMIUM COVER VARIANT MULTIPLE GIMMICKS' era? yup, that's my starting point. then shifted to JIM LEE/Image/Wildstorm comicbooks. was sad when he sold Wildstorm to DC. i have a lot of Image Comic books. but when he sold the property, i also shifted back to my first love character -- BATMAN. but i don't buy single issues of it. just the paperbacks. which in my opinion lately is a good read than the single issues. complete na, at no ads in betweens. then i stopped collecting single issues late 2005. right now, occassionally, i buy trade paperbacks from both DC and MARVEL.
"i was happy collecting, and was happy stopping."

I also used to collect western comic books during high school I started with marvel then shifted to image comics, but after entering my senior year in college I decided to stop for good. But I got hook on manga by my coworker back in 2000 and that was the start of me collecting american published manga (viz,tokyopop,darkhorse,comicsone,delrey..etc), from time to time I try to balance the toys and the comicbooks I buy because its quite expensive to maintain both hobbies

Comic book collecting is my primary hobby and gunpla just comes in second. I live and breathe comics and have become a self proclaimed comics guru. Anything from 2003 to present, i am very very aware of. but if you talk about comics in the 90's, i rarely have any idea about that. the 90's were known to be the dark age of comics and it really died down! I mostly collect Batman, Nightwing, Astonishing Xmen, Young Avengers, and a whole lot more. Anything good from DC or Marvel, please count me in. Im still in the process of taking pictures of my collection, sobrang dami lang kasi that's why i havent posted it yet! I also have a couple of trade paperbacks too, like The Authority, New Xmen, Runaways, etc. I happen to be a completist,so I collect the variants too. I have completed all the variants for Astonishing Xmen, Young Avengers, House of M and others. I know I may be bragging too long, but i'll let the pics do the talking. I hope i get the pics of collection uploaded 2night.

I have been collecting comics for over twenty years now. The cornerstone of my collection is a run of Uncanny X-Men from issue 115 to 425. I tend to collect based on writers. I was a Marvel Zombie then got hooked to DC and ended up going back to Marvel during Civil War, Annihilation and Planet Hulk.

Sorry i got a little hostile there.....hehehe...kidding! the female wolverine is X-23. she's a clone of wolvie, she's regarded as the hottest character to come in the x family in the last 20 years. her first appearance in NYX #3 is selling hot like pancakes! but i think wolvie is a little overrated and his stories are getting a little boring for my taste. im not bad mouthing the guy or anything but i do hope they come up with better stories for him.

I was a Marvel Zombie then got hooked to DC and ended up going back to Marvel during Civil War, Annihilation and Planet Hulk. wow! you must have been a Chris Claremont fan! Annihilation is well written and the same for Planet Hulk. Civil War? Im not gonna BS you on this but I thought it was a load of s**t! Pardon my french. If your into Marvel, I recommend you read books like Runaways or Young Avengers! The first story arc of Astonishing Xmen was simply beautiful also. Another hot item for Marvel is Daredevil, Bendis is an awesome writer, but when Ed Brubaker took over the book......it's just plain comicgasm. ;D This may sound odd to you but Immortal Iron Fist is on the rise too! It is just simply awesome! But deep down in my heart, DC holds a dear spot there! I really LOVE detective comics, so where better to get them? None other than the world's greatest detective...BATMAN!!! TO THE BATMOBILE!!!
