Yep, apparently Daimos isn't as tall as Voltes and Combattler. The statistics are based from Banpresto's Super robot wars games, which from what I know, is based from the statistics provided by their respective creators. The big bot in the background is Daitarn 3, 120 Meters. It's also interesting to note that to date, the Gunbuster is the tallest Super Robot ever. It towers over everybody at 200Meters tall. Gold

isn't mazinger z and great mazinger about the same height? Strangely enough in the anime(both old and new) it's often shown that way. But in the stats from Super Robot encyclopedia states otherwise. I guess they weren't really going for reality concepts in terms of applied scale when they actually drew the anime. Gold

Good memory. Danguard is the same height as Gunbuster at 200Meters(BTW I stand corrected, Gunbuster is only 200Meters tall and Daitarn 3 is only 120Meters). Thanks to Wikipedia for the correct stats. Gold

Can't wait for a SOC danguard ace to come out. he's a pretty simple robot to transform from satellizer to robot actually one of the better looking retro robots(done from the 70's - early 80's). the toy pretty much looks and transforms like the cartoon.

Gold That being the case, does anyone here know the individual scales by which the different chogokins were produced in, specifically Combattler V, Mazinger Z, Aphrodai A, Grendaizer and Voltes V?

Hehe here's a scale comparison of the Bots. This is based on the actual statisitcs of Super Robots(the height of Voltes is 59 Meters, Mazinger Z is 16-18Meters). Please click on thumbnail to view larger image Gold Gold (or anyone who might know the answer), I know this is off-topic but I'm confused. If this pic shows the actual heigh comparison of these bots then why do we see Grendizer and Maz in almost the same height in the anime? Or Maz and Getter Robo? Or Getter Robo from Getter G? I know the height is different, but not that much. Please enlighten me as I've been bugged by this for a looong time now. Before I was convinced that this size comparison artwork was wrong. Thank you. Peace

Thank you. Peace Hi Peace, I guess we can only speculate, meaning there may never be official answers to that "universal" question, in our circle that is. My hypothesis for it could be that when we were young, creators of Super Robots never really had "scales" and "statistics" in mind in terms of comparing it with other super robots, even the ones they churn out in their own universe. I think they never really bothered because kids (those days) wouldn't have bothered much about it, too. They did put out stats, specifications and all but only for each robot and never really had the foresight to make them consistent (like in the case of Go Nagai's SRs that appear all almost at the same height, whether in regular episodes or movies). They just didn't see it the way we see it now as adults who now care about these details.

I was able to download and view the CG intro of a Super Robots game from this same discussion board (Look for the SSC_op3.flv link): greattoysonline.proboards43.com/index.cgi?board=superrobot&action=display&thread=1142879879It shows the difference in the sizes of the Gundams, the 2 Mazingers, Combattler, EVA, Raideen and other robots whom I could not identify. Clearly, Great Mazinger is taller than Mazinger Z. And although Mazinger is taller than the Gundams, Combattler towers over everybody else... I captured an image file out of the video file but I don't have any idea how to post it here...
