In my opinion the stats are wrong...the anime is correct. I calculate it by the space each pilot takes from the robot. Voltes is an eye and Mazinger is a small capsule on its head, which is about the same. I insist on the size of Voltes made wrong due to toy design and complex.

A GX-31 R should be one and a half inch higher than the GX-02 R but with no transformation feature. As for the Anime world, Voltes V is no higher than Ankoku from the Great Mazinger series.

Concluing my comments on the subject. We now have the real Voltes V that transforms but once we have the robot we don't have the ships. I would like a smaller scale that matches the rest, non transformable and bringing the 5 ships aside. Similar to what they did on Gaiking and the Getters.

I bought Combattler V long time ago. With all my respect, I think Voltes V should have only existed. BTW, it'll be smart making a new Camp Big Falcom from a smaller version GX-31...revised.

as i suggested a long time ago: a non transformable fully articulated voltes v. ;Dsame height.  great head movements. ;Dopen bay hatch for the magnetic tops. :o2x chain knuckles/finger missiles/ground fire fx/umbeam fx/umball fx from sword swipe/add. hands/correcting the blue part on the elbow.  |

I'm quite happy with all the features, except for a base stand with his name and size matching the rest. And the falcom with some grass and landmass (all plastic) since all of this should be together.

this is a message i posted for a friend of mine so i'll just post it here too..
in my opinion, R versions only appears because of 2 reasons, reason 1 to fix a major problem of a previous release i.e. Mazinger Z GX-01 is shorter than her girlfriend robots from the same series, Great Mazinger, the booster was designed with the wings in the wrong direction, Gaiking and Space Dragon, the space dragon's legs are too loose to hold the dragon.. Voltes V does not have any major problems so i think a R version is unlikely.. Reason #2 for an R version, its a repaint and Bandai is cashing in on the old mold.. example: dancougar GX-13R (Anime Color Repaint), Xabungle GX-28R (Another repaint).. if it aint broken, why fix it?

ako sana e remodel nla yung design nag bomber medyo maliit kasi yun cockpit e...yun lang kc yung medyo malayo sa actual, but then the whole thing is superb..

first and foremost, the name plate at the base should have been there in the first place. articulation and the hips and neck would also have been great. over all, gx-31 is one hell of a toy!!!
