but you'll end up spending more money for games, movies, accessories etc... You can live on just adding a 2GB SanDisk memstick (better and cheaper than Sony's) with ur PSP purchase. That's all you'll be needing as long as you learn how to unleash its "full potential". And of course you need to have a broadband connection to help you unleash the beast on ur PSP. Or a trusted friend on one of those "Ill put a program on your machine" kind of stores. That's a moral dilemma u'll have to face. As for this thread's question, you got to ask yourself this: Am I the type of person that tends to sell my possessions after I am finished with them or the novelty of owning the item fades away? If you answer a YES, then get a Voltes V as it will have a better price than the PSP years from now (As long as you take care of it of course). If NO, ask yourself this: Which do I enjoy more: technology, gadgets and playing interactive games or looking at my possessions and feeling proud and derive happiness from knowing that you own one of them? I guess you know which answer leads to which product.

one of the main reasons collectors bought voltes v is not only because their famous here but because of their status maybe 10 years time or more the same reason why we buy vintage toys or toys that will increase its price in the future. About psp, probably one of the most versatile gaming consoles it even had a sold separately camera and same interface to PS3. I dunno if their price will increase in 10 years time or so but I'll still buy it because of its historical value on how successful technology is. I still kept my gameboy, gamegear and PS1 for crying outloud and they still work!
I like both items but if i will choose which to buy first I'll go with Voltes V SOC.

face it, the SOC Voltes V robot is not that good an investment because there are just so many available, everybody and his brother who had the money and really wanted it got theirs within the first few months. it would take another 20 years (again) before it really appreciates in value. now that Bandai has gotten into the habit of reissuing rarer SOCs, well, it's gonna take even longer for it to get rare enough to appreciate significantly in value...
it's like what happened to the comics, when everyone was buying because they thought the issue would appreciate in value in the future, not realizing that the high value comics appreciated in value because of the passage of time and scarcity; because of the high demand, comic books were over-printed and over-stocked...
so don't let "investment value" or "depreciation" of one or the other be a factor in your decision. they're both toys, get them if you want to play with them.

Bear in mind that a new slimmer, lighter, brighter screened and longer battery lasting PSP is on the horizon. Not to mention a TV out option and new colors.
Though I wouldn't buy it to replace my PSP. The changes aren't big enough to warrant a sale from me.

voltes v, for most of us, is not just a toy. it's a generation, we are a generation. much like those who have been before us with their elvis and beatles and those after us with their f4s, or something. all i know is that i have been looking for this toy (or at least its variants before) for decades now, and that i've been with a lot of hobbies since, from tamiya model kits to mcfarlanes to marui AEGs and a whole lot more. but then voltes v is different, quite different. we are the generation who, at one point it time, choose to be at home at 5pm just to watch it. that same generation who are now professionals and who can already afford to spend something for what we truly believe in.
and so, what i would really like to say is: i am, still is and will always be.........let's volt in!!!!!!!
