Voltes V....I will get 2 of them VS one PSP only... besides with PSP you have to buy the games... besides I am not into handheld games.. I would rather listen to MP3s from my cell if I am bored...and no ipod for me either...I have the cell phone for that (listen to music that is) :-) ;D

Buy PSP. It will make more sense. Why? You can play with it and still look cool. You can watch movies with it play MP3s. More value for your money. But hey, that's just my opinion. The power of choice is still in your hands. Goodluck!

hmmm... psp i guess.
compact, easy to manipulate (once you know where and how to get the games) more variety in terms of games.

I'd also go for the PSP, more playability value IMO.

I'd go for the psp.... more value for your money... music player, movie player, internet browsing, portable game console.... what more can you ask for... but if you are in the Philippines how are you going to use the internet capability? isn't it it the PSP has WIFI only? is WIFI access prevalent in Philippine Households yet? and I am not trying to say the Philippines is slow to catch up with technology it is more of the availability of the technology to reach the masses that I am asking about... oh, BTW...the question was IF "u" meaning me if I was answering teh question and you if you were asking the question...so for "me" it is still Voltes V SOC...only because ;D

Internet capability? If you can afford either a SoCVV or a PSP, then you're probably familiar with MALLS. You've probably stepped into one of those fancy-smancy coffee shops. And guess what? Some malls and coffee shops (like Robinson's, and certain Starbucks') actually offer free wifi access! Woooaaah!! (Of course there's a problem in finding said hotspots... but they're there if you look hard enough ) No, actually. After 2-5 years, you won't be able to sell your PSP at all But as you said, PSP has better use. There's the obvious: playing games, photo viewer, video and mp3 player. If you're into homebrew (which I am, currently learning how to program my own apps/games ;P), there are so many applications available that your PSP can possess even more functionality than a thrice-as-expensive PDA. Most emulators also run on the PSP. Just think: PS1, Snes, GBA in one. There's even an N64 emu but it's still in development and doesn't run very well </3 I've used my PSP for work a few times. Back before we had connectivity in our office, my boss needed a place to set up her laptop for conferencing with our US branch. Pop out PSP, search for hotspots in building. Found a suitable location, set up laptop, and poof, video conference. A different but similar story-- we needed to contact someone but only knew his email, go into starbucks, pop out PSP, connect using my friends wifi account, and sent message. Ok, ok, sorry. Just messing. I super-wubbles <3 <3 <3 my PSP.

Just messing. I super-wubbles <3 <3 <3 my PSP. so everytime i want to use my PSP "wi-fi" connection all i have to do is go to these fancy-smancy coffee shops just to connect the NET & prestowwww??? i suppose theyre open 24 hours and if ur leaving outside Metro Manila...no problemo just get a cab or drive all d way to these fancy-smancy coffee shops....ooooowww and dont forget to fill ur gas..... "PSP can possess even more functionality than a thrice-as-expensive PDA" i cannot conclude 'coz i either dont have both PDA & PSP....maybe this was base from ur experience.....but does a PSP have a 2.0 megapixel camera like a PDA??? oooohhhh and a 3G Technology for those PDA Phones ...so u can see who ur talking with??? and does it come with an FM tuner so u can listen to your favorite programs on radio when u get bored playing??? oooowwww & does a PSP can scan bussiness card so you dont forget important persons names, contacts??? ooowwww & can u call thru ur a PSP 'coz ur car broke down in the middle of the hi-way & no one is stopping by to help.....now i supposed those thrice as expensive PDA phones cant help u 'coz they've got SMS, MMS, 3G, wi-fi and d best u can call someone to help u and ur car!!! emulators??? why do u need an emulator for??? u already bought a fancy state of the art gizmo tat is light years away from technology and hence u wanna get pre historic 20 yr old games running in ur PSP??? pacman....supermario....donkey kong....space invader....heck those games are classic....but c'mon ur really not stretching the capability and limits of ur PSP if u do that!!! IMO!!!

Ahahahahaha.
You're right. =) I got carried away. I'm super-biased.
No, I was thinking of going 'nostalgic'. =) Us fancy-shmancy nerdy types do that. We taek pride taht were old r nd obsessivle ovr technolgy u nub.
Ok, so it doesn't have 3G, it can't send SMS (but it *can* YM if you have a hotspot...), and honestly most of the homebrew aren't as good as any commercial apps. It doesn't have a touch screen, it doesn't have a keypad, its mp3 player stinks compared to the ipod.
So I exaggerated earlier about the psp's merits, but obviously I'm happy with my psp and use it fairly often. While my boyfriend has several SoC's, and they're gathering dust in his display cabinet.
True that these SoCs are years old and will last much longer than my PSP ever could, and that the SoCs will only improve its value as it ages (while my PSP will eventually devaluate into nothing). But when that time comes, I will have had squeezed every last bit of functionality out of the PSP. Compared to if I had gotten a SoCVV, for the same price I would have had a very nice, hippy-shiny cabinet decoration. =)
So, we're back to the original topic. How are you going to defend that?
(Don't get me wrong, nothing against SoCVV's... it's just that my boyfriend won't answer me straight when I ask him what he's going to get out of a SoCVV..... )

yeah....i too hav nothin against PSP....as a matter of fact i dont have one....tat's y i dont even see any point comapairing a PSP to SOC....but for the sake of argument.....here's my stand....i would like to believe that anything what i paid for i should get my money's worth....i just dont get the idea of more value for buying a PSP...when in fact after u bought a PSP u still need to buy games for it....u can download games alryt but where r u gonna store it??? u still need to buy memory sticks.... SOC's.....its a classic, its a legend, been part of ur childhood....after buying it... play with it...keep it mint...display it....heck wen u get tired of collecting... sold it....u either get ur money back or earns a little .....it's kinda like an investment!!!

i'll go with SOC's VOLTES V. i'll buy two if it has the same price of PSP.
technology these days are so fast in evolving. in a year or two there will be PSP2. and after that, PSP3. then, you'll realize, "nakakasawa na yung PSP ko." then, you'll buy the next releases. yup, it's true. you will enjoy the whole package. but in the end, you will spend more if you choose hand-held game console.
with SOC Voltes V, yup, you can still play with it. but after awhile, when you decide selling it, you can sell for the price you bought or higher. that depends on the quality, demand & availability. while on game console, pababa lang nang pababa ang prices for selling it on second hand. hope you understand my point.
nweiz, the decision is still yours. just be sure that you will be happy and content on the toys that you will buy. happy playing!
