Anyone have Super Robot Wars - Original Generation Kits by Kotobukiya?
Are they any good? Just saw the OAVs and was pretty impressed. I've seen the Huckebein and Alteisens, etc. at STC and were wondering if they were any good. I remember them being kinda pricey for 1/144, unscaled kits.

i have an altaisen kit. plastic quality is ok but kind of hard to paint on. maybe needs sanding or primer. as far as assembly it is no where near bandai. but if you really must have it then buy otherwise stick to gundam kits.

dalong.net has recently opened its kotobukiya kits review section: dalong.net/review/kotobukiya.htmone notable things about koto's 1/144 SRW kits: they're almost as big as the 1/100 MG kits.

I guess it is because those Mechs are really designed that way. Really tells you why SRW sticks with SD so that everyone is roughly the same size. XD

Kotobukiya SRW kits looks nice. but what bothers me are those 'pointed parts' of the robot. they're too sharp. this is not for kids.

checked out the pictures in dalong. these kits are highly detailed.... i don't think you need to paint them at all.... i was amazed that the eyes are already painted onto the kit even before you cut them off the runners.... no stickers at all.... hehe... ;D @no3ljm definitely not for kids, especially the alteisen....

well, i guess kotobikiya's target with these SRW kits is the fans of the SRW games itself - which is why they're technically easy to build and display...

Apparently there's already one that's slated to be released this december. I'm not sure if it can separate into the 3 smaller components.

Really? Cool..... ;D It would be nice to see the "most powerful super robot" (according to Ryusei) as a mech figure....

I have the R-Gun Powered bought from Greenhills, and it sure is mighty cool. Much non-detail is covered up, so it looks much better than Gundam kits, in my opinion. Despite the price, nice.
