Hi guys, I've been seeing a lot of these G.I.Joe Sigma 6 toys lately and the figures look very nicely-detailed with lots of accessories.... Just wanted to know what was the general opinion of toy collectors regarding them. Please let me know why you think these toys are great, so-so or not worth buying here in the thread.
Thanks! ;D

i dont like it at all. It looks too anime for my taste. Now if only they made the RAH line into Legends. haaay.

i think the sigma six line was meant for the "new potential generation" of joe fans - henceforth the various toylines and anime-ish designs (if i recall the animation company was GONZO - the same company famed for the gatekeepers series).

Well, the figures look great.... its just weird that they had to make separate figures for the joes you can put into the vehicles. I agree with Bruticus that although the line looks great, I still like the originals better.

Personally, I like the Sigma 6 line.
It is important though to note that there are actually two categories of Sigma 6 toys: the 8-inch line and the 2.5 inch line.
Of the two, it is the 8-inch line that has a more "cartoonish" feel to it due to the angular sculpting of the action figures.
As for the 2.5 inch line, this was basically conceptualized to be more vehicle and playset centric. After all, coming out with vehicles and playsets for 8-inch action figures would probably be troublesome and the final pricepoint rather prohibitive.
Assuming Hasbro centered its efforts on making vehicles and playsets for the 8-inchers, only a niche collector market would probably be able to afford these, going against what I think to be the target demographic of youngsters who may not be familiar with the old school 3 3/4 joe line of toys.
Either way, I find the Sigma 6 line, whether 8-inch or 2.5 inches rather cool. Its a great way to refresh the line and introduce it to a whole new generation of kids and is supported by a cartoon.
My personal favorites are really the vehicles at the 2.5 inch scale! Vehicles like the DragonHawk, the Cobra Firebat, Night Ops Vamp, Street Razor, Winged Fury and Iron Hammer are a lot of fun to play with and look awesome! They're also packed with interchangeable accessories, increasing the playbility factor!
Don't get me wrong, I too love the Joes of old ('80s-onwards)! But I am quite impressed with this new line as well.
These are just my thoughts....
Ultimately, for someone who is undecided about buying this line, the best suggestion would probably be to really check these things out up close in the malls. If it strikes your fancy, then buy one, whatever appeals to you. If the bug bites, then you can always go back and get some more! If it doesn't appeal to you, then that's ok too! Forced savings! Hahahaha!
Cheers!

although i am not really a fan of gijoe i prefer the size of the original ones, but for the looks of 6 sigma they are ok.. maybe the reason they made 6 sigma a big size is due to some law with the original size being hazardous to small kids.. i've been looking at them in the stores for a long time but i really can't bring myself to buying just even one piece to try it out.

hmmm i forgot to place my comments as well.
i kinda like the "new refreshing concept" of the joes and their vehicles. but somehow the background story of "using power armors against cobra's laser technology" is somewhat un-joe ish. i kinda like the animation and vehicles, but i guess thats not enough for me to start collecting the toyline.
well, i guess a dragonhawk and snake eyes wouldnt hurt though...

Personally, I like the sculpt of the figures (especially Snake Eyes!) on the 8-inch figures. I find them impressive and the anime-ish look does give it something "fresh" to consider. I was just really surprised at how small the vehicle versions are and have yet to see any of these out of the box for me to really check them.... oh well....maybe the bug will bite me soon... ;D

garvy has a good point. the sigma 6 line does present a fresh new face of gi joe to the younger generation that is hooked on more "futuristic" stuff and who may not be into the traditional military feel of the vintage joes.
btw, how poseable is the 2.5 inch sigma 6 line?

the only thing I like about the GiJoe Sigma six lines was there vehicles thou I hardly didn't know any of theyre storylines I only knew the old GIJOE .... GIJoes right now has mechs ala mechwarrior design now that is a plus on the SIgma lines .... I've been seeing these one on the malls I've been looking through them all the time when I visit a toystore but have no time to buy one cause Gundam is really my first priority. The only fig that catches my attention was the big action fig ... I think that was snake eyes (correct me if Im wrong) and Destro's Mech .... althou the only draw back on the GIJoe Sigma is that they are not following any scale references unlike the old GiJoes figs most of them follows the scale line. But still I like the new GI Joe Sigma Six but have no money left to buy one ... ;D

Personally, I like the 2.5 Sigma 6 line. The vehicles are okay and they're coming out with new vehicles. Of course, the orig 80's line was the best, in terms of scale and bad ass factor IMHO. ^_^

At first I had mixed feelings about this line. I wasn't too impressed with the first 2 Snake Eyes that came out nor with Destro. But Cobra Commander got me sold! I sold of my 2 Snake Eyes and just settled for Destro and Cobra Commander on my desk. But for bad a$$ factor, this guy totally wins me over that I even want to buy a second one! Iron Hammer: It's a mix of Robotech, Aliens, Starship Trooper (animated series) designs and I love it!
