Just got the latest issue of ToyFare. On their "INCOMING!" column, they showed pictures of the TF Collector's Club exclusive TF lineup. The set features TF:BeastWars Optimus Primal, Cheetor, RatTrap, Rhinox, and dinobot in their pre-beast forms. Everyone of them are from TF:Galaxy Force molds. (ex. Gasket and Skids to name some)
All I can say is, can't they come up with an original concept? Like Optimus Primal as a space cargo trailer. Or, Rhinox as a artillery loader vehicle.

everything is on www.botcon.comsure they can come up with an original concept. but these are produced in small quantities, and as such they have to reuse molds. it makes perfect sense for BW's 10th anniversary year too. - last "i think they made excellent choices, myself" maximal

It's a great set, but at the price I'm not sure. You can buy a Brave Max (although good luck finding it ) with the price of this set. Regarding why they have to use older molds, it's simple. Too expensive to make entirely new molds just for a limited release. Don't expect a convention exclusive to be a completely new mold.

Repackaged garbage? I agree with cmdrj, better but a Fort Max than thisobscene attempt of scamming our pockets.

i only like megatron and primal to some extent. i just dont get how cheetor, rhinox, dinobot etc could retain their names when most they're packaged in their pre beast/ cybertronian forms. heck even cheetor has spots in car mode.

Repackaged garbage? I agree with cmdrj, better but a Fort Max than thisobscene attempt of scamming our pockets. these are recolored, repurposed and -- yes -- repackaged toys. i don't think we can honestly expect them to dust off/recondition old steel moldwork, spend the added shipping/packing amount, and produce a limited run of a huge nearly twenty-year-old figure to sell to an *extremely* small market. they'd go broke if they listened to "what the fans want". expensive, yes. i don't agree with Fun Publications' price structure for anything they've put out thus far. but it's their show, and i can't claim to understand how these things are computed, so i'll leave them to decide how to charge and how much. [shrug] i don't see how this is a scam in ANY way. it's not like convention exclusives, by their nature, can EVER be fully new molds anyway. and they've been up front about what these are since the beginning. - last "words MEAN things" maximal
