Curious About People's reaction to MP-4 Convoy

Hehehe! I had the same thing in mind when I saw the release of the MP-4. First, they sell just convoy, then a few months later convoy with trailer. Who's to say that its not possible that they release a convoy with trailer with roller? Maybe we should wait a bit and they hopefully may release a trailer only with roller.

As for the foot problem, yeah mine comes off to sometimes but its nothing serious because it pops right back in.

being a convoy/ prime fanboy, yes i probably am. also because i like the cartoonyness of it. although i'd probably just laugh at the voice.

as for mp-04 and mp-01, for me the bottomline is buy mp-04 if you're displayin prime in truck mode otherwise get mp-01. no biggie

to those who have MP-1 OP and MP-4 OP, is there any difference between the two Optimus Primes? Even just a bit difference? I hope no one answers that the other one has the trailer. ;D

Maybe this can help. I do not have an MP-01 or an MP-04 what I got is the Hasbro version but this article from the AllSpark forum courtesy of powered convoy can shed a light into it.

" plan on doing a full gallery with detailed pictures at www.cosmicrust.com in the near future, but I figured I'd let people know of the differences I've spotted in this figure from the original version.

First off, is obviously the trailer. I must admit it's nicer than I thought in most ways. The gray plastic is very nice, as is the stripe detailing. All of the little details inside and out are great. The trailer stand, the opening doors and ramp, the classic supports with extending support, and storage for the weapons are all great touchs. The lack of a Roller, and the simplicity of the command deck module are a little disappointing though.
The Convoy's photon rifle is still gray for those of you who wanted to know.

Now for the differences of the actual Convoy figure.
-First off, he seems to be a shade (just a bit) darker red than the original. But we do see this from time to time with figures of the same run, so I'd just chalk it up to batch differences.
-The Energon Axe. Is very clear in the center, as oppossed to the more orange original and even more orange US version.
-The windows. Are a lot more blue. This is not just a variation in plastic, as the difference in red can be explained by. Takara clearly used a different color, and it's much more blue. But still not as blue as the promotional pictures. Though a nice touch.
-The matrix. This is probably chalked up to the different shade present on the windows. The matrix now lights up blue, instead of just white. The chrome is just the same (not like Magnus'). Not sure if the light is different (haven't explored it enough), but it definetly lights up blue (and the matrix's plastic is more blue) as oppossed to white.
-His communication stickers. Now I found this to be the most exciting part, and I'll let the stickers speak for themselves (by the way the original had Bumblebee on the left arm and Starscream on the right, Magnus had Optimus/Convoy and a tech read out of some sort)

Though pricey, these little differences (blue windows, new stickers, blue light in matrix) make the money I spent on this version seem a little more worthwhile.

Edit: One more thing. The only thing I figured this figure would have different than the original is that his face plate sat higher on his face, which it does. MP-02 Magnus was the same way, so I figured MP-04 would be too. And thankfully I was correct as it looks better (to me at least)."

I got the reissue Hasbro Optimus Prime masterpiece( short smokestack) and have noticed that they have did some changes in term of repaint...btw it is not battle damaged looked anymore and the Ion blaster is now blue...will post picture next time

yup, i think the DVD/non-Cullen-talking-base 20th Prime reissue currently out in the US has the updated comm panel stickers too, but a slightly warmer/red-orange shade for the body and a dark blue gun.

and John, i do hope you don't mean personally insulted... by a Japanese company. s'just the way they work, i guess; it's not like they wake up and think "what'll piss people off today?" it's an annoyingly cheesy way to do business, though, to be sure.

Having bought the 20th Anniversary Prime by Hasbro, I had a huge fit of disappointment when I walked into the store and saw the MP-04. Having shelled out a lot of money into it (I was in college, and my thesis was literally sucking away my allowance...), I kinda felt REALLY BAD

Now, I'm mulling over buying it, but really, 7,200 pesos is really too much.
