Hi guys, bought the Robotech DVD set from dk last week and I watched the New Generation series 1st (never seen this series). Can someone tell me what the next series ought to be (if there ever was one)? ;D

Well, chronologically, Robotech: New Generation was the last part of Robotech in anime form. A feature film (Robotech: The Untold Story) and aborted TV series (Robotech II: The Sentinels) were produced later, but both were supposed to take place between the Robotech: The Macross Saga and Robotech: Masters.
However, Harmony Gold will be releasing a new OVA entitled Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles which will supposedly continue the story of Scott Bernard. Its slated to be released direct to DVD sometime this year.

macross 7 is from the continuity of the original macross series and not part of the robotech timeline.

Well, I believe Macross 7 is one of the sequels to the original Japanese Super Dimension Fortress Macross series, so it is not connected to the Robotech story.
I think it comes after Macross Plus.

I was also curious about those. Hope you can post a review. Finish reading them. I don't know what kind of review to write (never written one before). But here goes: The story is so-so for me, had a hard time knowing who's who at first since the faces in the comics don't match the faces in the series. Familiar characters that were in the comics or mentioned: Rick Hunter, Lisa Hunter, Lyn Min Mei, Lyn Kyle, Breetai, Exedore, Dana Sterling, Louie Nichol & Bowie Grant. Story timeline is just after the Southern Cross series and during the New Generation series. It tells on how the Shadow System was "developed" and used against the Invid in their homeworld. It also shows the development of the Neutron S missles and how they tested it. The prelude also shows some insight on how Rick Hunter's ship (SDF-4) disappeared. This is the best I could do, guys. Hopefully, it's enough. ;D SGP |
