i've heard of this back then but it seems the news "died down". is it ever gonna come out?! my 1/60 vf-1a needs an upgrade, and as much as possible i dont want to resort to the option to buy the fast pack versions...

Yamato scrapped the project a long time ago.
AFAIK, Yamato put up an online poll on their website trying to get collector feedback on the project. I don't think it generated enough interest based on the poll results.

Personal opinion, YES. They are worth collecting, but at this point and time, the 1/60's are an aquired taste na lang.

I dont know why a lot of people are putting down the 1/60 valks. For me they have athis certain sentimental value for die-hard Macross collectors. Its what restarted the Macross craze again. I remember how excited I was when I first got my 1/60 VF-1A Hikaru..... I agree with Jaybats and Laughing Man. YES they are still worth getting. They have good quality and durability despite the minor transformation flaws and scalewise I think its just right. Actually come to think of it, IMHO its the 1/48 valks which are oversized.

I like the 1/60 Valks. Sure they are not perfect transformation Valks but they are priced about half the price of the 1/48 Valks and cost a little less than the regular SOCs making them much more affordable. Also, there are 1/60 Valks that have yet to make an appearance in the 1/48 line like the VF-1D, Ostrich and the Elintseeker. Since these would require a major change in the 1/48 mold or additional accessories, it isn't likely that you will see 1/48 versions of these Valks. I just wish Yamato would stop making repaints of Valks and get of their butts to make the SDF-1 (DYRL version) with detachable ARMD I and ARMD II units.

hmmm. the reason why i started this is that i was considering getting two kinds of stuff: a gq force impulse and a super/strike 1/60 valkrie. obviously i cant afford the 1/48 (and i've heard horrible stories regarding the leg 's "t-brace" and "backpack"), plus i preferred the 1/60's "transformation" and scale.
so i was in the option of getting a super/strike pack. i did realize however, that i also owned a VF-1A production type - and i can just simply purchase a strike/super parts set, in which i recall was going to come out... yet still hasnt.

Whatever 'stories' you heard about the 1/48 are all exagerrated. Having a 1/48 in your hands and transforming it yourself is a far different, and 'better' experience than just reading about them. Just ask anyone where who has a 1/48. I own several 1/60's as well, and was hoping for the Strike Parts to be released. Sadly, it did not gain any momentum based on the Yamato poll, so it was scrapped.
