@laughing man thanks for the info, bro. before i posted, i was thinking that maybe the 1/60 YF-19 could be the same size as normal 1/48 VF series. and there's your answer... all i'm thinking is WOW! this YF-19 is really big. hope they include the Fast Pack for this YF-19 along with the 'teleportation device module'. sorry forgot the name of the rocket-thingy on his back. and wish they release a YF-21 too.
ipon-ipon muna... ;D

ah! thanks bro for the providing a pic reference! as i said, the chest area still isnt "hidden". this new incarnation of the YF-19 still follows the aesthetic design of the previous 1/72 version, although it slightly improved. but if you'll take a much closer look at the gerwalk's lineart this time, you'll notice its a lot more lower or "hidden" as it looks a lot better. i really do hope the final version manages to make it as perfect as the lineart... thats all there is to visually fix anyway. sigh. gerwalk still looks awkward... seems like they still need to improve how to hide the battroid's chest while the arms are out. Look at the GERWALK line art bro.... the 19 does have the chest slightly lifted to make way for the shoulders.

if i am not mistaken, the YF-19 in that picture is still a resin prototype, so it may not translate the GERWALK mode too well because of the volatile nature of resin.
But by guesstimates, if the final proto looks like that, then the mass production toys will be likely to be the same.

ipon-ipon muna... ;D I think I read somewhere that they'll include the fastpack and fold "thingy" for the 19. Think it was Graham from MW. Hope it's true. The 21 is what I'm waiting for. Peace

thanks peace for the info. if that's the case... i might consider this 1/60 YF-19. ;D
btw, it says in hlj that YF-19 is 18,800 yen. and since most of the posters for this valkyrie were Macross buyers, can you give me a rough estimates for this? based on the yen price, i'm guessing around P10,000-12,000, tax-uncluded?

Local price should be around 8000 to 8500 pesos. Wow, it's almost the same price as the MP-04. Not bad for me though and the expected release date will be around November. Enough time to save for it. ;D

From MW Hmm...I've been looking at this pic for some time and was just wondering if this YF-19 ia a Variable Swift Wing Fighter? (Wing move similar to the VF-1). Just look at where the wings meet the fuselage part of the plane. Could it be that Kawamori designed it to match the VF-19 Ravens of the Playstation game which has a Variable Swift Wing? It was posted somewhere at Macrossworld I think that Kawamori made this 1/60 YF-19 as how it should have appeared "correctly" in Macross plus (in which the Macross Plus Anime is not exactly Kawamori designed correct yata...) or something to that effect

gian7675I agree with your observation, and if you see it from the Yamato point of view, it is also more profittable since they can re-use the same "cast" for the VF-19 and its variants...

The same as the Grumman X-29, and the Su-37 Berkut. If you're referring to whether the wings fold ala the VF-1's or the F-14, yes they do, at least according to the line art below. The wings fold back into the body of the craft, although technically it's purpose escapes me since FSW designs are already designed for high maneuverability at transonic speeds (near the speed of sound), except maybe for storage purposes. Also, if the wings fold like that, I don't know where the same will come from, since the base of the wing is fairly wide, and there's little space on the wing roots to accommodate it. Anime magic again?

Anime magic again? Hey thanks for the Line Art! This is the first time I saw the line Art of the YF-19 having it's wings folded. Based on the Macross VF-X Ravens game, the VF-19 there is supposed to go faster when it's wings are folded...ironic isn't it? They designed the YF-19 to have a "forward swept wing" design so that it can be fast...and then they designed it to fold back to the traditional look af an aircraft so that it can even go faster! Weird! One forward, one step backward.

Looks like it is feasible for the yamato 19....although it won't be of much use for me. I wouldn't display it like that. Looks cool though, nonetheless. Looks like they'll release the fast pack and probably the fold booster in 2007! Why 2007? Peace

of course!
its like what bandai does - come out with a basic MS (ZZ) then come out with another variant (FAZZ-blue) and then after the dust has settled, make another fuss with another variant (FAZZ-white)!
exploiting the moulds to their fullest while making additional moulds for added parts later THEN come out with special edition/color variants is the trend these days!
