I'd recommend Yamato, but realistically speaking, it should depend on your budget. Yamato's are probably the best representations of Valkyries, but they are very expensive. Your next option would be Bandai's 1/55 re-issues. good value, but since Bandai pulled out on re-issuing other variants of the VF-1, it's a little bit hard to find one. If you do, the price is probably up as well. I don't know about Tomy and other companies producing Macross VF toys (save for Hasegawa, but these are kits). It's ultimately your choice. You can visit Macrossworld.Com for detailed reviews and pictures of various Yamato products.

No kidding. Even the special version 1/60 VF-1s like the ElintSeeker and VF-1D are more than 4.5k in Greenhills...
Heck, I just paid 6.5k for a 2nd hand Max Super VF-1J over at PTK. However, considering that it's no longer available in either 1/60 or 1/48, I consider it a lucky break for me...

The Bandai 1/55s are really sturdy but the poseability (compared with Yamato) leaves a bit to be desired.
