If it's for the Japanese market, I think the quality will be far better than the toynami version. I wonder if the overseas license is still with Harmony Gold. If so, I am worried that the CM version will not be easily available in the US just like Yamato Macross toys. Sorry, Checkmate but it is possible.
Otherwise, this is great news. We will finally see the Tread!!!

Hi There!
Anyone know what scale these badboys will come in? I'm hoping that it would be about 1:35 or something like that so that it will be nearer in size to the yamato valks I have. Also, it looks like the sculpt is way better than the toynami version, hope it transforms as well. : )

Hopefully Harmony Gold will see the light and allow the CMs version to be released in the US.

SSC makes their own toys and also distributes Japanese toys of the same line they have. ex. Star wars RAH and 1/12 scale dolls.

When I first read about these toys, the first thing that came to mind was "and here I was scrambling to buy discounted MARVEL LEGENDS?!" Forget that! Bring on Mospeada! (Malvin, pls. bring these over)

I think that approach makes sense when there are no US and Japanese versions of the exact same fig. If that's the case, the Tread would be ok but releasing another "Alpha" when Toynami has released their own version is an issue.

I'm definitely getting these babies including the alphas even if i already have completed the toynami alphas. The sculpts on these look much better than the toynami ones and I would very much prefer a perfect alpha and beta linkup. I hope they will release the beta in different colors too.

I'm so happy I held off on getting any of the Toynami Alphas.
The question now is: will CM's make Cyclones/ride armor?
Should we still buy Toynami's Masterpiece Cyclones?
