In 1976, Andrew Ainsworth made the stormtrooper helmets used in Star Wars: A New Hope. A total of 50 Stunt and 6 stormtrooper helmets were made.
Recently, Andrew started making the ‘Hero’ helmet line again. The Hero helmets were used for close-ups of the lead actors. I was very fortunate to get the Protoype Hero from Andrew.
This is the very first Hero helmet made by Andrew since 1976 and the only prototype.
Each helmet is hand made by Andrew. If you look closely, you will notice how asymmetrical the helmet is. One cheek tube is bigger than the other.
