Soundwave: Galaxy force `nuff said

Just got mine today....finally, bad@ss Destron of yester years gets his chance to shine again !

Don`t know much of the techspec translation but here goes........

Class: Cybertron/Destron?

Planet key: Definitely Destron

Transform mode: Futuristic F117 Nighthawk Stealth fighter

Function:Communicator? Espionage?

Gimmicks: Planet key opens hhis "cassette" chest chamber which takes the drum like accessories

Accessories: Laserbeak (very compact and technologically alien yet beast terran in nature), Concussion rifle and Shoulder mounted bazooka ( just like the original Soundwave. His jet canopy transforms into a permannet mounted shield with a gold symbol.


Description: Face is very anime accurate/great homage to the original, optics is red transluscent giving a light source gleam look. (if you have an Action master of Soundwave....well thats the closest you can see of the resemblance)

Height comparison with the original Soundwave is the same, but if the original was kinda blocky, this Soundwave is slim.....ninja like. His torso looks like the hip guaard of a Gundam. The legs resembles that of a Tekkaman robo and Scourge (Sweep leader in G1). Fully poseable and articulated( I count 15 points).

The blue plastic is kinda cool....glossy and smooth (just like the original) with some vacuum plated gold chrome and paint paterns on the rear fins and wings. Very detailed!

I hope there will be more "cassettes" or whatever it is you call `em to be issued.

Complaints: a bit unstable when you spread his leg for the dramatic effect posing. The instruction manual is next to useless.

Buy/want factor: You will buy this one whether you like it or not....this is Soundwave people!

And one more thing....there are no more catalogs in this Takara release, same as Sonic Bomber. (Cost cutting?........bummer)

Additional info, if you have problems with his "long neck" (thanks to the ever useless instruction manual and box photo), there is a way to shorten his neck into an anime accurate position. Before you clip in the tab to secure his head during the transformation, make sure to push / fold his head into the slot. I repeat "before" clipping the head unto the shoulder. Refer to TF.com for the photo. (You'll know what I mean.)

Hi, just want to know if the GF soundwave is almost the same height w/ the galaxy convoy/master galvatron?

Nope. Just as tall as Vector Prime or Galaxy Starscream. If you own a G1 Soundwave, they are of the same height.

hi! I just bought a Cybertron Soundwave and I noticed that on the instructions it was made clear that soundwave has a "long" neck while reading through other forums I found out that it was actually mistransformed and Soundwave should look better with the "short" neck. See pics here. Hope this helps!

no problem fenrir72 glad to be of help. You just have to push back on soundwave's head to accomplish this pretty hard the first time but I'm sure you'll figure this out since soundwave's head is mounted on a double-hinge platform. Transforming back to stealth mode is pretty tricky too especially with the hip leg portion.
