Primus aka Cybertron (Seibertron)
Allegiance: N/A
Function: Guardian of the Universe?
Relatives: Cybertrons and Destrons (offspring) aka Autobots and Decepticons
Favorites: Hot Rodimus (the touch.................) and Optimus "Convoy" Prime
Pet peeves: Unicron and iron ore
Concept: original (Furman), inspiration Takara's 1980's sphere robo (Diaclone I think)
Rate: Personal on a scale of 1 to 5, I give him 4.7
Manufactured by: Takara, soon by Hasbro with the Unicron head gimmick
My rant:
Ever since the Movie, I was wishing for a toy Unicron, heck, Superlink came and gone, I still didn't get one (wish I had though ). It did sound kind of cheesy that the bad guy like Uni could get such a butt kicking from while his foes were nail size in scale. Heck they even needed to sucker punch him with a Matrix thingie...........
Wait, this review is about Primus..............sorry...........now I've got one................YESSSSSSS!
(Again, you all can refer to pictures done by a certain website with initials R and K.(Don't have a cam so I'll just rely on my descriptions).
Size: around 15 inches or so, Unicron is taller thanks to his horns (use a photo size comparison 'cause I don't own one.)
Colors: a mix of dark and light blue, some aluminum silver and black. Colorful but not kiddie colorful.
Gimmicks: The Omega Lock kicks @ss! (I wonder though, if you loose it, heaven forbid, how do I transform him back to robot mode?) It already comes with 2 LR44 batteries
His planet key is that of an Autobot symbol only all colored light blue (he sure does play favorites though........no wonder the Decepticons are pissed off )
The planet key, when fit into the forearms extends the arm cannons.
As usual, fitting the key into his chest while in robot mode activates a laser firing sound Powered by the omnipresent AA dry cells.
Anyway, speaking of favorites, in Transformers history, both the Marvel Comic and the toy, there were #3 whose face looked like the Autobot face symbol..........
1. Furman's "last autobot"
2. Vector Prime
3. Primus
So I can't blame him now for playing favorites with the sides who uses his face a a battle standard.
Articulation: Very around 16 points, specially love the way he can give you the "dirty finger" ;D
Complaints:
Unicron in the movie didn't have a satellite, but the toy, he had Dead end to keep him company, Seibertron had two moons which Uni chomped at......................yet Primus didn't come with any Minicon attachments,
logically speaking though......the Autobots and Decepticons ARE his attachments so my complaint may be redundant hahaha..........so this one is minor.
Hasbro 's version my be at an advantage because of the limited edition Unicron head ( its a given that some paint and plastic quality may be sacrificed for economic reasons. Hopefully though this may not come to pass)
Box art.............complaint? Another minor though, the back of the box showcases all the Supreme Commanders in Transformers history but notably absent is Grand Maximus (the developer of the Pretender and Godbomber technology............in the anime anyway) and Metalhawk, Space Commader of the Pretenders.
Buy factor: (?) depending on its availability, Any true fan won't want to be left out without this bruiser.
