Twin cast e-hobby exclusive
Originally released:1986 + Steeljaw, this version is sold with the exclusive female "Flipside" Destron sleeper agent repaint of Eject and Rewind.
Pecularity: Sold in a blue e-hobby exclusive"Destron"box, seems like it is Flipside we are purchasing here.
Appeared: Transformers: Headmaster (japanese continuity)
Remember the gawd awful Star TV dubbed of Takara Transformers? Blaster/Broadcast was called "Biling" or sounded like that...........anyway,who couldn't forget the titanic battle between Soundwave and Blaster in the artic circle? A mano y mano, fight to the finish, no quarter given slugfest that resulted to both warriors nearly deactivated permanently. As a result we get the remold of Soundwave and Broadcast.
To Takara's credit, instead of just recoloring the figures, they added an increased cassette capacity for both warriors. Much to my surprise and happiness Soundblaster was released as aTTFC + two casseticons. :oSo much to my surprise, Twincast was released as a e-hobby release, with just 1 cassetibot...........but what makes her special, an exclusive never released character.....so I'm game ( I was really after him with or without Flipside).
Some may have trouble with the blue color scheme, but I recall a transformer/takara archive books showing the original "diaclone" Blaster in blue with model number MC-13.
As mentioned, Twincast comes with an increased chest capacity to fit two cassetibots, extra "electrical' patterns on his chest plate like Soundblaster + the red colored tech spec decoder in the panel. As the original Blaster, there are no diecast parts, but his transform mode is way more intricate than Soundblaster's
Now on to the "sleeper agent" Flipside, as Soundblaster's casseticons denote a decoded weak point printout of Fortress Maximus, Flipside has both Maximus and Scorponok's weak points. Her rub sticker is that of a Destron..............so we know where her true loyalty lies ( she isn't aware of it though)
Is he a warranted purchase? He is included in the alternate continuity, IMHO he is, though a bit pricey ( e-hobby gimmick no?) ;D, heck I've already put mine out of the box ready to sock it to 'em with Soundblaster (again, if you've got Soundblaster, you need a Twincast if not pass him on)
