Here's a quick review of Movie Deluxe Arcee.
Alternate Mode:
Arcee comes in an awesome looking sports bike. I don't know if it was patterned on a real sports bike but it sure looks good, really good. The main colors in this mode is mostly purple and black (which makes it more of a decepticon than an autobot) with some silver strips and gold strips too! The gold paint which is on the mag wheels are excellent. There are two headlines in front which are colored black and purple, the windshield is transparent blue. An autobot symbol can be found on the backside right on the compartment and a plate number of 7407, Yep the movie date is also present. The only thing I dont like about this mode is the visibility of the hands -- hardly noticeable but on a trained eye its clearly visible.
Score: 4.5/5
Robot Mode:
I don't have the energon Arcee figure but I read on some forums that transformation is almost the same.
Transformation is clever and quite tricky at first but if you're a transformer collector then you'll figure it out quickly. The hands and forearms are located on the backside while the legs forms are tucked on both sides. The tricky part is separating the back wheel which forms the shoulder part -- it actually splits in two so be careful when yanking it. I will not go into much details so there's some excitement left when you transform Arcee the first time. The compartment at the back becomes the weapon - a crossbow and the exhaust pipe on the lower right side becomes the arrow/projectile. I could not figure out the automorph feature of this figure but I suspect its in the formation of the lower legs but still I have my doubts as if this figure has truly automorph features.
The figure is highly poseable and the legs and feet provide for some good pose and stability. The downside are the shoulders because the split rear tires becomes an obstruction and it kinda wiggles a lot. The instruction says to bend it forward but I like to keep it sideways (see picture below). Kibble are on the shoulder and backside. Oh and before I forget if you're thinking pretty face then it will disappoint or Transformers just does not have humans taste for a pretty face. The face reminds me of a character in Beast Wars although I could not remember its name. It also resembles the alien in the movie Species if you ask me. Like it or not this is a movie figure so it will look bug-like horrible but who knows? Maybe from a transformers point-of-view Arcee is really one hot chic.
Overall, the figure is good retaining mostly purple and black with again shades of gold, silver and some blue on its lower torso, legs.
Score: 4/5
My opinion? This is probably one of the rarest and hotest figure in the TF movie line so if you get a chance to get her then don't hesitate at all. I just got lucky this afternoon when I took a stroll in TK Makati.
Overall Score: 4.5/5
