This must be one of the finest Robotech productions made of this scale. This figure is limited to a production run of 15,000, and is packaged in its trademark "book-style" box with slide-out tray. An intense amount of detail and wonderful craftsmanship and articulation makes this toy almost perfect. But why isn’t it perfect? The price. At its earliest introduction, the MSRP was $79.99 but some stores were trying to sell these bad boys at an even more ridiculous $139.99! Still, even $80.00 is a bit steep in my opinion and not all the cost was put into the actual toy production to justify the price point, the packaging costs must have been astronomical! However, I have gleefully found these awesome pieces @ my local anime retail store for 20% off last week! Now that is one hell of a deal, in fact it’s probably the best deal I’ve had all year. Slight unemployment problem for a few weeks has been keeping me from getting these masterpieces and now I'm sooo thankful I finally got these. ;D what I liked: * Fully transformable into three modes * LED light-up visor * Book-style packaging * Landing gear with rubber tires * Articulation: 26 joints of actual movement what I didn't care for: * Missile pods doesn’t stay in place sometimes * Less die-cast than I expected * Panels are a little bit flimsy in Battroid mode light up visor...niiiice with veritech armor: now I'm looking forward on getting my first 1/48 scale Yamato VFs soon.

if you want 1/55 scale valk, this one is a must buy imo. though the downside is toynami produced a limited quantity of these, specially Rick Hunter's VF-1Js are sooo hard to find. but yamato 1/48 valks are nice to have but a bit pricey.

Gundam_G05: 1/48 Yamato valks are the high-end version among all macross toys so far.. and so as it's price (ranging from 110-300USD) 300 is for the low vis version 1.. here's it's selling mostly at around 7,000-10,000.00.. out of every yamato release for macross that has ever been concieved, the 1/48 VF-1 has the most small parts! molds are big and expensive, and making a mold for a big piece is a lot easier and cheaper than making molds for several small pieces(which are integral to the 1/48) hence the justification for the price.. there are also 1/60 valkyries.. difference among them are: 1/60=swap part transformation, most diecast content out of all VF-1 toys. 1/48=PERFECT variable, minimal diecast, more articulated. each scale have different valkyrie types from Macross DRYL, TV, ZERO and Plus.. there are also 1/55 valks from Bandai and Toynami.. apparently among the two, bandai have better material quality (most diecast) and quite sturdy toy.. even more compared to yamato valks, but when we talk about form factor and accuracy.. it's not as good as it looks like those of yammies.. anyway, if you are only contemplating at getting one, then again, ithink it's better if you get directly that 1/48 scale Roy Focker..

1/48's & the current 1/60's are the way to go.....IMO.....nothing get closer than that.....
Bandais are for the Nostalgic and Retro feel.....
Toynami....its a beef up 1/55 Bandai......

u can try searching the e-bay...but with shipping rate its another story...pero at least u can gauge the price.....but sometimes some sellers tends to be sarcastic reg their price on e-bay!!! or u can try Robotech.com....since MPC are more on Robotech rather than Macross!!!

if you're a die hard fan get all variations i wonder though magkano na kaya ngayon ang MPC VF-1J before, bbts.com is selling the mpc Rick Hunter valk for a whopping $300! though i'm thinking of going to get the yamato 1/48 version if I don't get lucky on ebay. I have 2 on my ebay watchlist right now. ;D

Faisaijin is right......if youre a Macross junkie then at least have one variant of each..... yes, tooo fragile.. for a transformable toy.. i speak by experience though.. (i'm not sure, maybe some got luck out with their mpcs)
