Thanks everyone for the heads up! Will try to finish this by mid Oct, im almost done, and im enjoying every bit but i need to reduce the workload on this coz I need to concentrate w/ my reviews for my upcoming board. Another small update... This time, my first custom base for the Deepstriker Custom! Materials... Went to Tap Plastics store and bought myself these. Damaged me for more than $20! An expensive paper towel holder, acrylic tubes (hollow and solid) and disk. 4 clear plastic screws Drilled the end of the solid tube and glued the G-System's acrylic bar to be connected at the bottom of Deepstriker. Drilled the other end and the disk Finished base! I know this will hold my DS enough unlike the Functional base. Of course, I'll put some details on it when I finish the kit. vic01

Hey Vic, I just bought myself a Millenium Falcon kit. Any suggestions on what to use for panel lines and some weathering effects? Thanks Hey, great! A kit? you mean the Fine Molds version?! The washing is very easy, you just need an oil based paint like enamels or oil color. I used Gray and black oil paints. Try to use mineral spirits or turpentine thinners for oil paints since they won't damage the paint underneath when you clean up. I will never use their own thinner brand. Some pics of my painted Millenium Falcon, well, just painted the sides "Palaman" area and some details. Also painted the area where you connect the landing gears... then topcoated. Drybrushed the "Palaman" w/ Gundam marker metallic silver. I forgot to panel line or wash. Some minor details were also AB'd Time to fly! Love the sounds integrated on the lights, hehe! With Luke's X-Wing Red 5 Thanks for viewing! Just giving rest time w/ the DS. vic01

Nice! Thanks a lot. That Gundam Marker metallic silver drybrush just struck me.. now I have a good idea on what I will use aside from the gundam marker. Someone's got to be resourceful when building kits especially when it's difficult to find materials.
I bought it at Toys R Us here in UAE. Will post pics once completed. Now I'm trying to finish other kits.

Hehe, im flattered. Hehe! Thanks guys! Before I made that base, I have lots of errors like I tried to glued the acrylics w/c is a no no. I was thinking how come some modelers have those acrylic stands w/o stains or being glued. I saw one model and he used some screws. Then I did it w/ the tools. @qb: I took up Computer Engineering when I was there from 2000-2005 at Mapua. I didn't even march on my grad on 02/2005, because I have to leave before that. I just have some basic knowledge, just some, hehe. Now, i took nursing here since it is very in demand, nice salary, i want to pass the board this Nov. Thanks everyone! Almost done w/ my DS Custom... Almost done, I just need to fix and design the circuit for the chest and hide the batteries inside on one of the propellants at the back, paint a lot of small parts, boosters, the BFC, future clear coat, decals, and the finale, topcoating. Hope next week im set. vic01
