@jnthn-- Glad you appreciate the ASTRAEA. I liked the new look of this unit better than the original EXIA. Reminds me of an ASTRAY. This baby's currently in immaterial's display cabinet for the time being. For some odd reason, it seems like my kits feel much more at home in other peple's displays... you know that's how i feel about astraea too...i just prefer it's design more....are you getting an avalanche exia too? coz that's another anti-exia too.... great job on your f91 too! are you gonna flat coat it?

@jnthn: Thanks! The F91? Yup, I'm gonna flatcoat it, but not anytime soon. I still have a lot of details to paint and decals to stick on to it. My kit assembly process is VERY slow. XD I think I might get an Avalanche EXIA but maybe not right now. I'm planning to assemble all the kits I have in storage before I buy anything new XD What I'm currently doing: Revoltech VF1J head BEFORE: Looks a bit drab and the green sensor is kinda lacking... Revoltech VF1J head AFTER: Nothing really eye-catching... but if you turn the visor towards a light source... Now, it looks better. Oh, and this Revo isn't mine. I just asked a good friend if he was willing to let me perform surgery on it. ;D

Ahh... Time to update the old thread. ;D Just posting an /r/ and some notes for a friend: MG CROSSBONE X-1 Ver. Ka i71.photobucket.com/albums/i156/Trace-01/WIP/DSCF1603.jpgHere's a picture of the kit from the front. Obvious mistakes are some misses on paint application to the shoulder armor detail. I guess I really need practice handbrushing with Tamiya acrylics. ;D I also skipped removing the seams on some parts. i71.photobucket.com/albums/i156/Trace-01/WIP/DSCF1605.jpgWeapon: definitely needed some paint. came molded in base white plastic and is assembled with only a few dark/clear parts. The painting of the grey parts was based directly from the picture on the side of the box. Will touch up missing/excess paint later. (I was also using the Rafflesia stand of the MG F91 to hold the kit in position while I was fiddling with the other parts that needed detailing. XD ) i71.photobucket.com/albums/i156/Trace-01/WIP/DSCF1606.jpgi71.photobucket.com/albums/i156/Trace-01/WIP/DSCF1607.jpgCore booster (?) detail. Used the same grey paint for the binders. It turned out pretty good, I guess. I still have to fill out the obvious gaps in the plastic mold but maybe next time. I'll post some more pics of the kit with decals applied next time.

Haha~! It's a really good kit (My third one, actually ;D). I'm probably going to start adding decals to it after I finish up with the crossbone.

My first update for the year! Here's a mini review for a Modelock non-scale ARX-7 ARBALEST A really good friend of mine was able to get this plastic kit some time ago and he asked me to detail it for him. I understand why the kit really needs details... Pic of the box. the box construction is really flimsy, soft carboard is used but the overall appearance is pretty good. It weights much less than those new Robot Damashii action figures and a little like the Bandai FG kits. What's inside: two sprues (One sprue actually, just divided into two halves) of parts and a slip of paper with assembly instructions (Not shown), and zero PC parts. the parts are flat white so painting and detailing is a must if you really want it to look good. The assembly sheet is unique. It shows the upper sprue and the lower sprue and is numbered only on paper. the sprues themselves have no numbers like the way Bandai does with their kits. Assembly still requires you to cut and clean the parts of from their sprues. The parts are made of ABS and is quite sturdy. Most of the parts are ball-socket joints and is very easy to assemble. It's so easy that I didn't bother looking at the manual XD. Since the parts are made of ABS, the joints are very tight. Finished assembly. This kit has a very nice feature: the sprue can also function as a stand! one sprue has a socket joint in the middle and there's a part that you cut off from that same sprue which has ball joints which you attach to the base and at the back of the ARBALEST. the kit itself is so light that supporting it is no problem, but it's rather wobbly. A shot from the back. Most of the kit's parts are hollow. this may be an eyesore for some but can be a challenge for people who mod their kits. I also noticed that the inner legs have socket joints were you place the weapons. it's a pretty nice feature that helps you keep track of the kits' removable parts. On poseablility and other additions: the ball and socket joints make this kit very poseable!Altough some of the joint bend at awkward angles, it's very fun to play with. (It can even kneel! ^_^) Accessories are pretty scarce. Just a shotgun and a combat knife with hands pre-molded to the hilt, and two closed-fist versions of the hand. The height comparison: It's just a little bit smaller than Bandai HGUC kits and definitely bigger than HCMPros so it's very good considering the cost of the kit (Which costs as much as a regular Bandai FG kit) Overall: It's a very nice kit if you don't mind painting it and the detail is very nice if you don't mind modding the joints or the hollow spaces in the kit. it's definitely a nice addition to any kit collector's collection and really good for fans of the Anime. ^_^ I hope the weather clears ups sometime so I can actually paint this model. Thanks for looking!

Nice to see a review on the Mode Lock Arbalest itemtracer, I've been looking around for this kit but haven't an idea where I can get one. Yup GT doesn't have this in Greenhills, I asked. I wonder where your friend got that... I believe this is just one of the 3 Full Metal Panic The Second Raid kits ever produced (unless I'm mistaken) or from the FMP series for that matter. It's like a cheap revoltech in model kit form that's very articulated. A finished model from Alter is coming out but it's no model kit...

Ah so that's what inside the kit, and needs painting and detailing to do.
