Hello and welcome to my own Gundam collection thread. I think I have some other guys here wondering why I haven't created my own thread yet with me being an avid Gundam fan and all. The reason for that is I want to start my thread with my favorite mobile suit, the Gundam RX-178 MkII AEUG version.

Wasn't doing anything last Wednesday so I started to build the kit. Well, here it is. All in it's snap-built glory:

Started off with the arms & torso. I want to take my time building this kit since I want to have the best result as possible. The torso wasn't hard to build, but the arms were. Well, tedious to be more exact.

There were a lot of parts for the arms. Had to cut the sprues really thin so that I won't have a hard time sanding them when the time to paint the kit comes.

Went for the backpack next. This was an easy one. Didn't build the thrusters though because I'm still thinking if I should get metallic ones to make the kit look better.

Lastly, I finished both shoulder pads and the waist part. Again, both very easy to build. But there's this one part in the shoulder pads that I'm thinking about how to seal and then paint it without cutting a part of the exhausts at the side.

Will probably continue building the leg part next. I reviewed the manual and it also has a lot of parts. And by that, I mean A LOT!

you could color the pipings of the legs with silver to make it details inside also like what I did... (mind the crappy picture though)

Also you can separate the fingers so they can do a lot more actions with their hands like this

Thanks guys, took me some time to make my own thread nga eh, hehe... Been thinking twice since I know I can't match the great result you guys and the others do with their kits.

It's the version 2.0. Got it from zerotype from mechapinoy a couple of months back. Been real busy that's why I didn't have time to start building the kit.

I'm not sure since I don't have my own airbrush yet. I'm waiting for my friend to lend me his which I think won't happen so I'll stick to cans probably.

Thanks for the tip bro. Was going to do the internal frame painting thing but I'm not yet sure if I'll split the fingers for more finger articulation.

Lab update 12.25.07

Was available all-day yesterday so I went ahead and finished the legs.

Note:Sorry for the large pic of the first 2 photos, forgot to change the pixel size of the phone cam before taking pics.

The frame has a lot of parts but it was fun and easy to build. The articulation is really nice. The tedious part of building was with the legs' frame, the armor was easy because it only has 8 parts to cut and trim.

Here are both legs after 2 hours of building them.

Still can't find anything to do so I went ahead and finished the head too:

The head was very easy to build. It only has, I think, 6 parts or so. Took me only 20 minutes to complete the thing.

And here's the semi-finished product:

I already cut the sword and put it on the kit to see how it looks. Looks good to me. ;D

Next step, finish the weapons and then paint the kit. Probably will start painting next week.
