Late replies na naman, as usual... Busy at work... First, thanks for the warm appreciation guys. Impressive! how much it cost to build? that's a beautiful display case...... same question, how much to build? im awed, if not drooling in despair at such a glorious sight. NOW THAT IS A DISPLAY CAB!!! and same question as the first two! Splendid! With the aid of the cadd design in order to build such awesome cabinet. great!! that's a nice move there sir! i wonder how much did you shell for that... The cost.... I knew you'd all be askin. Well truthfully the budget I allocated was 3500 max. 1 panel of 1/2" marine plywood cost more or less P800. 1 day salary for a carpenter P300. Nails, glue, sandpaper P100 Drop lights + wire = 1200 Vinyl P90/roll @ace bought 3 rolls P270. Overhead expense = P900 I had an overhead expense of 900.. The original plan was the individual stands were to be made out of glass (which would cost a lot, kasi individual holders would cost me 80/pc plus the glass pa.). An alternative was to make it out of wood, the same material used for the whole cabinet frame. The tough part was making the individual brackets. So I took two carpenters (P300/day) to do the work and expecting that all will be finished within ONE day. Well. They were not able to finish in ONE day. Reasons, well the bracket, they really had a tough time making them, all 20pcs of it. And second the application of the Vinyl was also tough for them, imagine individually wrapping the stands and the bracket. They were able to finish it in two days, including the installation/wiring of the drop lights. So total cost more or less P3600. Wala pa yung Glass. This is a first, for me and for the carpenters... bottom line I was satisfied. whoa!! that's one wicked display cab! and it looks like the Wing Zero already occupied 3 spaces hehe.. Ha.ha.ha. Yes he does, but... he does not belong there. That cab will exclusively be HGUG collections. nice display cabinet you got there. ;)are you planning to put a large door/cover or individually on each rack? Yup just one large door cover on the front, it will be sliding with stopper of some sort so I could slide open halfway to either side. Para walang hati sa gitna.

Update! Last weeks project. HGCUC 144 RMS-141 XEKUEINS 05-20-2008 Another big daddy... which goes with Sazabi et al group. First time to try 'weathering effect', want him to look a bit dirty in some ways. With limited resources, I used a black stamp-pad ink from the office (he.he.he.) Trodat 7011, dabbed in cotton buds and applied to the kit and wipe with cloth. Darn, its messy and I still have some ink on my finger nails/tips. I somewhat liked the effect, parang greasy and only to find that my sandpaper marks became veeeery visible. Hope you guys could give me some tips on how to hide sandpaper marks. Frontal view. Front right. Front left Back left Back right View from top Yeah, I'm walkin with mah' gun. Close-up shot. Papogi.. Isa pa. That's all for now. Thanks for looking.

i'd estimate the glass would cost you around an additional 1-2k. is it tempered?
nonetheless, its really impressive as the cost is quite low compared to aluminum ones. i was expecting an overall cost of around 6-7k based from the look.
again, congratulations!

Sweet cab! And It's pretty cheap compared to buying a built one available in local malls! I guess I'll go with custom made cabs for my cab expansion... hehehe
