does anybody know where can i re-paint/re-chrome toy parts? some silver from my toys are worn out so i need to re-silver them. if you don't understand exactly what i'm talking about, the silver maybe is like the sword of voltes v (chrome) or the normal silver whatever in today's toys. (parang natutuklap). thanks!

Try checking out Polymer Inc, they sell gold and silver rolls. Lockbond is the glue that makes the item sticky and you apply the gold and silver rolls. I think thats the closest gold and silver type color you can achieve with the likes of the voltes v sword.

Bro. try Testors Argent Silver base coat and finish it with tamiya clear gloss. (If your willing to try... if you want gold effect, you don't need to buy gold paint. Just coat the silver base with yellow clear paint. I think tamiya has one. ITS WAY BETTER THAN BUYING GOLD PAINT)

And on the hobby shop upper level of Iseetan manila. (Note: Not so sure anymore...coz its also been a while since I've bought paints but as an alternative to Testor, I think local hardware store has a mixture of silver base coat, you need air brush on it for smooth finish or spray paint will do. You can buy tamiya finish on almost all hobby shop)

If you really into chroming stuff and has the budget... Local chroming treatment is available on some automotive shops, I think they have different treatment for plastic(e.g. Fiberglass or resin) and for metal. Why can't we buy them as a kit or a paint scheme? Coz' of hazzardous chemicals in it such as sulfuric acid and silver nitrates. So let the professionals do this for you. Its for your own good(unless you are working in automotive paint customizing).

Well i used gold plating/leaf application using the lockbond pt and a gold roll from polymer inc. This part is from SD ZZ gundam is what im going to use. The lockbond pt and the gold roll leaf. Applying the glue. Let the glue dry till it gets really sticky. Cut some gold leaf, easier when applying. When super sticky apply gold leaf. Here is the progress. More application. Finished product. I'm new to this so my application is not that good .. making super practice for the MG Strike Freedom.

d**n, the finish is so silver like. But the machine is so expensive and it uses chemicals that might not be available here in the philippines.
