vic01well i just happen to see lang kasi from one manufacturer here ng mga fiberglass/acrylic/ plastic stuffs, when they "weld" pieces together they use heat gun. maybe if it's just a boyy grade platic weld baka iba. maybe you just need to heat it with a hair dryer. heat gun kasi mabilis magpainit eh, it's used for bengin acrylic sheets rin. Thank you sir! ;D

Just asked the sales clerk from the hobby store how to use it, he said just brush the plastic welder to the cut styrene sheet. I said, that's it?! I'll try later, if that's the case, time for scratch building some parts, a lot of things coming from my mind! ;D

would laquer thinner work to "Glue" the sheets together? I noticed it can really hurt plastic.

laquer is hard to control specially when you use it on plastic. you dont know how long it would melt plastic. hehe... there are other melting compounds that are easier to use... i'll get back on you about this... but i use laquer to make sabers form the leftover sprues. hehe.... ;D it does melt and hurt plastic. would laquer thinner work to "Glue" the sheets together? I noticed it can really hurt plastic.

Try using plastic cements or superglue to bond plastic. Works for me! ;D

That's what I do too. ;D I was just wondering if laquer thinner could be an alternative.

i tried to scratchbuild my MG Gouf's heat sword using steel epoxy putty, not that perfect but still turned out acceptable. also, i rebuilt the broken hip joint of my astray with the putty. so i guess if you cant find any styrene sheets, try scuplting them on epoxy putty.

Where can I get pla plates in Pinas? STC has stocks of Tamiya plastic sheets in different thickness. Lil's also seems to have stocks of it at a lower price compared to STC National Bookstore also usually carries plastic or styrene sheets called "Evergreen", it it usually located near their scrap book materials. Hope that helps.
