nowadays im using rotring 0.2 techpen and thinned tamiya enamel paints (german grey or flat black) for the panel lines. i use a fine brush for the paint and cotton buds to wipe the excess.

good day to everyone.
inquire ko lang kung meron ditong nagbubuo nang mga model kits? at kung magkano?
di kasi ako gaanong kagaling magbuo esp., when it comes to painting putting on decals & detailing.
thank you.

for that you need the base colour in lacquer based and use thinned down enamel for lining... or use top coat in glossy finish and then do the lining...
The idea is while you wipe out the excess enamel you don't want the thinner to eat away the base colour...

so its the enamel paints that is more likely to run thru the panel lines. . . thansk will try that if i get to the point na i'll paint my mechs.
right now am using panel markers from gundam, just want to know if there is a pen that can run through the lines, so i don't have to really draw it you know what i mean. . .

Question: (1st post! hehe) when you guys paint a model, say a Gunda, do you paint after you have assembled the whole thing or paint 1 part at a time then assemble?

Post by dj898 on Mar 24, 2006 3:49:55 GMT 8
you do pre-assemble to see what needed to be painted separately and what needed to be putt'd/sand' and etc. before painting.
so it depends on the kit and parts...

Ok, so it's a matter of doing a little tinkering.

don't underestimate the power of pre-assembly
