tobatz bro, ask ko lang kung ano yung pinaka-specific question mo about sa "wash". is it the paint applications order? or yung wash method itself?
if its the paint application order, ok yung post mo. tamang order ang mga yan. just don't forget to apply the decals first, if ever there's any, before putting the gloss coat (before applying the wash method).
now with wash naman. "wash" method works well if the surface is gloss and smooth. it will flow easy. not like if the surface is flat, the paint will have a hard time to flow. so if you want a flat-finish product, apply the wash on a gloss surface first, then, apply the flat coat when you're done detailing your kit.
here's a sample of orders with decals:FLAT-FINISH1. base coat (preferrably gloss) > decals > gloss topcoat > wash or paneling > flat topcoat 2. base coat (preferrably gloss) > gloss topcoat > decals > gloss topcoat > wash or paneling > flat topcoat GLOSS/SEMI-GLOSS FINISH1. base coat (preferrably gloss) > decals > gloss topcoat > wash or paneling > gloss/semi-gloss topcoat 2. base coat (preferrably gloss) > gloss topcoat > decals > gloss topcoat > wash or paneling > gloss/semi-gloss topcoat for me, i always use the first number order. as much as possible i minimize the use or overcoating of coats/topcoats. kumakapal eh. the first time i use this method, nakapag-coat ako 3X. not to mention the base paint and some paint details pa. kaya makapal sya. but now, since i use water color paints for panelings, kahit di na ako mag-topcoat after the base coat, ok lang. since the water color is water-based, madaling remedyuhan pag nagkakamali. kuha lang ako nang dampened cotton balls, voila! bura ang paneling. so my ordering now is: 1. base coat (preferrably gloss) > decals > wash or paneling > flat topcoat 2. base coat (preferrably gloss) > decals > gloss topcoat > wash or paneling > flat topcoat i apply the number 2 option in case there's a hard panel painting on top of decals. baka lagi akong magkamali, madudumihan lang ynug decals. so i need to apply a gloss topcoat first after applying the decals, before moving to paneling.
hope that helps, bro.

Hi dudes... uhm, im quite new here and im also new at this panel line and paintings so i'll just drop by a few questions and hope that you could help me out... 1. I just painted some part of my kit a year ago with Bosny flat black paint. I want to remove the paint totally... is it still possible? how? 2. How can I make realistic battle scars w/o using an air brush? 3. Do you guys have any link to any tips on how I can make a cool diorama? Many thanks in advance. Hope you guys could help me out on this... -GRIMM

careful using brake fluids on kits especially those ABS Plastics. I use brake fluid to strip paints on plastics only (PS). While Clorox on ABS plastics (Internals). What happens if you use brake fluid on ABS? Well it melts the ABS. Clorox will strip most laquer and acrylics medyo matagal nga lang pero ok lang kasi nde naman masisira kit mo

tobatz@no3ljm: whoooaah! that blew me off!!! thank u very much, very nice work on Freedom MG... i envy u hehehe thnx again... you're welcome bro. we're here naman sa GT boards to help others din. natuto din naman ako thru forums din. thanks sa good words about my MG Freedom. tagal ko din ginawa yan. hehehe. ;D newbie din kasi ako eh. btw, walang base coat yang Freedom ko. just panel lines, internal details lang ang may paint. the rest, kit's color. hope that helps.@grimmHi dudes... uhm, im quite new here and im also new at this panel line and paintings so i'll just drop by a few questions and hope that you could help me out... 1. I just painted some part of my kit a year ago with Bosny flat black paint. I want to remove the paint totally... is it still possible? how? this one has answered. brake fluid. ingat lang sa paggamit.there's some tips sa mga ibang forums. like www.fichtenfoo.com, www.dannychoo.com, etc. you can use pastel chalks for weathering and details. remember, do not use oil-based pastel. buy the ones like chalk. yung rectangular shape. oil-based ata, is the rounded one.
this is some tools i read sa mga forums before:
soldering iron to make beam rifle/saber scratches. be careful not to over do it.
dad's trusted nail and hammer or ice picks for bullet holes or dents. ;Dtry www.armorama.com bro. i heard that this is a great site for military dioramas. so there's a lot of techniques and tips on doing battle-damaged scenes. no problem bro. you're welcome.

i think may nabibiling solution sa super glue para matangal. priced at 150-200 php sa hardware. pero dapat ung gagamitan mo nun hindi sobrang nagmelt na ung plastic and parang magkadikit na. i mean kung manipis ung paglagay mo ng glue it should work naman. pero based on my experience hindi laging natatangal and if matangal mo u need to sand ng mabuti. hope may sense sinabi ko.

@ no3ljm and the others... Thanks bro. I really appreciate the tips. I just hope it wont dry the quality of my kits. I used thinner and cuticle remover on my Stormsworder (ZOIDS) once to remove panel lines and it dried up the plastic of my kit. Fortunately it was not that worst... but still you could notice the difference if you're a collector like us. Again... thanks guys. Im glad to be here. -GRIMM

@grimm no prob bro. sana nga nakatulong mga sinasabi namin eh. hehehe. ;D j/k. nweiz, good luck on building kits. marami pang lalabas sa July. actually, ngayong June, marami na ring mga bago. if you have time, check this thread on upcoming kits. ang dami! as in! July pa lang yan ha. hehehe. di ko na kayang bilhin yung iba eh.
i know what you feel bro. collector din ako eh. sobrang "OC" nang mga collectors pagdating sa mga laruan. hehehe. proud to be one.
as for your Zoid, bro. baka mali yung paggamit mo nang thinner. sabi kasi nang marami, if you let the thinner rubbed a lot of times dun sa plastic kit, talagang masisira yung kit mo. magkakaron nang 'blemishes'. same thing with Gundam Kits. they don't suggest na magtagal ang thinner sa surface nung plastic. kinakain kasi nang thinner ang plastic. so para maiwasang ilapit kay dr.belo at dr.calalay ang mga kits ninyo. here's some tips.
if you need to clean it with thinner, the best thing to do is put some small amount of thinner sa cotton buds or clean cloth. and just to be sure, you must have an extra clean cloth for wiping or for drying the thinner on the surface. remember lang bro na may tendency na mawala yung natural glossiness/shine nung plastic once you use thinner nang matagal. as for the thinner, i suggest you use thinners na nabibili sa mga hobby shops. industrial thinners like yung binibili nang mga tatay natin para sa mga pintura ay masyadong matapang.
sana nakatulong ito, bro.
teka... thinner din ba ang panglinis sa ka-plastic-an nang tao? hahahaha! ;D j/k
