Its the same place where you buy the spray cans... I found some at SM North EDSA... Also there is a hobby shop somewhere in front of the Sta, Cruz Church... Try also looking at Virramall somewhere at the 3rd floor...

any ideas why the modelers in YouTube do a lot of sanding on the bare plastic?

any ideas why the modelers in YouTube do a lot of sanding on the bare plastic? well, i think they do sand a lot after priming, because they see some 'imperfectations' on the kit. now, about the imperfections, i have no idea what they're seeing. but i'm just guessing, maybe the contour on the kit. or they make new contours on their own. modeller keita wants his kit to be 'squarish' -- meaning, makanto. he eliminates the roundish mold on some parts of the kits. e.g. calves and legs.

Ahhhh... so that's how the inkwash technique works. Thanks for the links bro! Just some questions though, how does he make the paint "crawl" along the panel line?
And the exhaust vent on the head part? It was done excellently. What mixture does he do with his paints that makes it easy to remove even if it's applied over a painted part? I mean, is it with the paint or is the cotton bud soaked in some mixture so that the excess paint can be removed easily?

@jq 1. the ink flows to the contour with the help of 'capillary effect'. you start with the top most part area then you let the paint flow downwards. it will also help if the base paint is gloss or if the surface is smooth.
2. i think he dip the cotton bud with a small amount of thinner to erase the excess. he just uses an enamel paint and enamel thinner for the mixture on his 'sumi-ire' jobs.
hope that helps.

no prob bro. remember, the ink wash 'only' works with gloss/smooth surface. it's not advisable to use that on flat surface or kit that has been sprayed with flat topcoats.
hope that helps.

Actually, with that info, I'm planning to switch paint types from acrylic to enamel paints. Will probably buy a 1/144 scrap kit to practice with the technique first before applying it to MGs. ;D EDIT: Scratch that, I'm definitely getting enamel paints tomorrow for the inkwash technique after reading your reply from PilapZ's thread. ;D I just have to get a kit to be the victim of my inkwash practice. ;D
