i dunno if alcohol will remove ur base paint but you can use alcohol to remove those extra gold marks... just be careful on applying the alcohol on the intended part... you can use cotton buds.. slowly but surely... hope that helps..

wahhhhh... i already tried it! it's just like thinner, once the alcohol goes to the cotton buds then applied to the area, it ate up some part of the paint ?! any other ideas? Thanks!

Did you used acrylic paint for your base? try again what shinn suggested but this time dilute it in water and use small amount only, don't soak the buds. It may remove some of the base paint but hopefully it will not remove down to the plastic.
What you should have done is used stronger base paint like Mr.Color. or oil-based gold paint. Gundam markers are acrylic paints IIRC.

whoa! how did the gold paint got all the way to there? If you were working on weathering and used black instead of gold, it would come out great Anyways you just need to fine tune your skills, don't overuse the cotton buds, if the paint is spreading around then you must use new buds, and if the H20+alcohol is too thin to remove paint effectively, add more alcohol.
There is another method, instead of using H20+alcohol, use a rubbing compound, it costs about the same as a tube of putty. This is what I use to repair minifigures with paint scratches.

lol It works like a cotton bud that automatically wets with thinner. Most likely you'll get worse result since the tip is much rougher.

hey! fellow helpers! i recently bought this Gundam Eraser? will this help? or this just works like thinner?! hahaha.. i think this will just spread the paint gold making it worse. this eraser is actually thinner.. I suggest you just repaint it hehe afterwards use masking technique to prevent it from spreading or topcoat the black basecoat with gloss and then apply the marker.. just my opinion. hehe ;D but if you're lazy repainting, just paint the excess goldpaint with black marker or even pentelpen. peace
