Has anybody watched "Sinking of Japan" movie? I was able to buy this copy while strolling Cebu's verion of DVD pirated copy heaven (Fuente area here in Cebu)
It seems that the Japanese writers have gotten tired of having monsters destroy Japan's cities one at a time so they decided to do it en masse.
It's really great and the special effects are superb! It's at par with The Day After Tomorrow, Deep Impact, Twister etc...
The movie is about...well the sinking of Japan Japan as we all know is earthquake, tsunami and volcanic eruption prone so add these disasters into one big crisis and presto! Japan starts to sink into the ocean
It's based on a book of the same title. The movie is in japanese but there are subtitles in English.
You guys just watch it. If you like disaster movies...and a large body count this is a movie just for you.

There's a scene similar to the tsunami that happened in South East Asia. Imagine the docks of a very large port with thousands off people waiting for a passenger liner/tanker to take them away from japan...an eartquake stikes and then the evacuees sees a giant tsunami coming towards them eeeep! I wonder if this movie is based on an old Japanese live action TV series that was shown on IBC-13 after the super robot ban...it was the first Japanese series dubbed in Tagalog, i think...the title was "Sa Wakas"...
