$36M in 36 hours.
Unbiased opinion: it's a feel-good movie. Special effects are great, action shots and CG are breath taking. But it's not fooling anyone--it's got major plotholes and a storyline that leaves something to be desired.
I watched it four times in less than a week. Four freakin' times. I can't remember watching a movie four times on the big screen before this one, ever.
I'm NOT a transformers fan girl. I can't even remember a single episode of the cartoon.
Well... I guess I'm a fangirl now. *ditzy*
Boyfriend, move over. Optimus Prime needs space on my shelf.
;D

I think the $27.5M is for the US Box Office.... unfortunately, it didn't beat Spider-man 3 but we'll have to check the weekend earnings. I think it was because of the US Holiday which is why it didn't beat Spidey on openning day.... AdelaineHehe.... if you'd like to go back in time, Transformers cartoons are now available via torrents. Thanks to the hype, a lot of people are seeding the old cartoons.

Adelaine watching it four times is still not an obssession? hehehe. j/k yup, i agree with you. love the action sequence, love the CGI, love the effects, love the cars and love Megan Fox. but somehow it lacks the impact -- the realism. while they're battling on the city streets, there's no police, firemans and ambulance in sight. no sirens even. and i have no clue if some people died on that battlefield (city streets). no aftermath too.
but still, i'm impressed on the whole movie thing. i'm looking forward to a sequel. and i'm hoping that they will use more Transformers this time.
arch after hearing that song... i got a LSS (last song syndrome) for the last 2 days. yeesshh. ;D hahaha!
ninja i will just watch the 1986 movie this weekend. downloading those will take a lot of time and hard disk space. hehehe.

I watched it twice and to me the second serving did not go that well. It was a good movie but not a great one. Like someone who posted earlier, I just don't know where...Transformers is a good film with great action, excellent CGI but a flimsy storyline which will definitely lure Transfomers fan of all ages. The movie tries to be funny at times even when not needed and when we get to the action you almost can't see anything because of the continuous camera movements and shaking fortunately for me I never wear glasses. Let's hope for a better sequel and see if it can beat Spider-man.
