Heard this yesterday on the radio. It seems that their banking on the popularity generated by the Transformers movie to start making movies on super/real robots now.
Since the onset of Spider-man and the X-men, its always been about super hero movies.
I think this has been a long time coming but will this start a trend on just American robots? I hope they extend this to even the Japanese ones (Gundam, Voltes V, Mazinger and the like). ;D

i guess they're thinking the comic book characters are already saturated as it is.. so they're thinking of going down the robot line.. i hope they do quality films for these and not just the quick buck route ..

Oh yeah...good point Noel!
Lemme re-phrase: I hope that they don't just stick to American-popularized robots. I'm not sure how big the Gundam following is in the US (but I think it's big too) but I hope they do consider other real/super robots in upcoming films! ;D
