come to think of it, the melanie marquez act was a perfect bait and hook tactic lolz
it could be a case of either being extremely nervous (which didnt look that way) for missing out on even the basic subject-verb agreements, gross negligence for speech practice (unbelievable for someone joining a pageant) or she meant to do that all along ;D

just saw a clip of "Unang Hirit" this morning and they stated that the reason she won was because of all the other awards she had already gotten such as Best in Long Gown and Best in swimsuit. The Q&A portion of the competition is only 10% of the actual score that's why she won.
Just goes to show...here, you don't need to be smart, you just have to have a hot @$$ to win competitions......

I've watch the clips over and over again(and also the clip of miss south carolina), from what I've seen, atleast miss south carolina try to answer the question(only that she should ask dora's map about her problem). But Janina really didn't answer at all, set aside the freaking english, the answer to the question is WAY far from the actual question hahahaha. ;D ;D ;D
so whats the lesson here:
if your in a pagent and you can't answer a question just say "my family is the most important persons in my life"
