I just ordered a PSP, are original games widely available in Manila? What is the price range? Am wondering whether I should get more of my games here now or there when I get back in a few months. I buy my games at Datablitz in Park Square 1 makati. The prices can range from less than P2k for the old ones to upwards of P3k for new ones, but it isn't always that high. I got my Tekken DR for just P2,200 when they first got it (about 2nd week of july 2007). Another good thing about them is that you can have a title reserved for you and they will call you if they have it on stock. About the downgrading/custom fw- it is risky if you don't know what you are doing and you'll just end up bricking your psp. If you do want to unleash the psp's full potential, I suggest reading up on different psp messageboards and also try watching psphacking101's video tutorial on how to upgrade to a custom fw. They have 2 vids on that, one for 3.03 I think and one for the latest 3.40 custom fw. As for 3.50 fw, I believe it has only been cracked and no downgrader exists for now, and no other homebrew runs on it other than the illuminati/hello world one. As for my answer to this thead's poll- I'd go for- the WII! ;D

thanks for the info! i am not planning on having it modded, which is why i wanted to find out the price ranges. as i am Canada now, older games usually drop to the equivalent of about P1,000, sometimes P800 if it ends up in a Sale bin. New ones are about 2,000.
and yes, i would prefer a Wii also, but first i'd want to get a large 42" LCD TV to really maximize the Wii's potential...hopefully that's next year's major purchase, when prices drop further!
...but first i have to get the idea approved by She Who Must Be Obeyed...

or you could buy one of those 22" or bigger widescreen LCD monitors with the HDMI input to save a few bucks and spend them on games rather on an expensive TV.

nope, i dream of a 42" screen or bigger... maybe even a multimedia projector? ... with the possibilities of Wii's wireless and motion-sensitive control system, i gotta take it closer to virtual reality gaming than anything...i want to be able to play standing up and running and jumping and hacking and slashing... ;D ;D ;D

I would recommend you go with the big screen lcds. Multimedia projectors have a very short lamp life compared to lcds since they are designed to be used on short presentations rather than long-term viewing.
