As far as im concerned here are some differences on PSP and PSP Slim 1. 33% Lighter and 19% thinner than the original PSP 2. PSP Slim has faster loading time than PSP 3. Video Output (but the cable is not supplied or not included in the package) 4. The memory stick was put into a different place 5. Standard battery time is now 1200MaH 6. PSP Slim can now charge using a USB 7. The video resolution is now brighter 8. There are no more IR port 9. The speaker was put into a different place 10. The switch of the WiFi is now on top of PSP Slim 11. The RAM is now doubled so it is now using a 64mb of RAM Here yah go hope these helps .... ;D ;D ;D

jeeg: The version you're referring to is the firmware version. Think of it as something like the PSPs operating system. As of now, there are only 2 versions of psp available, the old model & the slim. The slim originally comes with the 3.60 firmware. Sony will continually update the firmware with every batch of psp they manufacture.

More interesting things to note between the 2: Metal Chassis Omitted from PSP to Reduce Weight, etc.I read somewhere that this is the reason why the SLIM is not as durable as the FAT, but I wouldn't worry too much about it, nobody in their right mind would drop their PSPs on the floor everyday

also, PSP's slims sold are now out with the 3.72 version firmware. archwhat's your average battery life on the PSP Slim playing games like Final Fantasy, Tekken or Smackdown vs Raw? I'm averaging around 3-4 hours playtime so I'm not sure if the performance is just right or below the usual. thanks!

I only get 2 days of game play its like I only play for an hour and a half of practicing Tekken DR and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max. I think that is normal.

fat psp can also charge thru usb. i want a slim psp because it can be connected to the tv Yap that's another great advantage of the Slim PSP althou the problem is PSP Slim only supports high definition tv. I'm still hoping that they can make a universal jacks outputs for PSP Slim that can be able to play or support on all kind of TV's.

why does a psp have to be modified? Are downloadable games considered pirated?

Yes. Except if you bought it off the online PS store. Although some people mod their psp so they can run homebrew applications, the main reason still is to be able to play ripped games.
