Hi there everyone^^. This is the first time I'll be posting a thread of my own in this section of GT boards. Well to start off, I'll post some pictures of my Elwing figures and some reviews. Before we start, a short intro about Elwing.
Elwing is an elfen archer; she appeared in the PS2 game Shining Tears by Sega. She was 117 yrs old(her looks are like a 17yr old girl...Lol) in the game and she was the Princess of Fontina, a kingdom of Elves near the city Shieldia(Correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a long time since I last played the game). She appeared again in another PS2 game, Shining Wind(Not so sure about this, but she was included in the Visual Art Material Collection of Shining Wind) and an anime series Shining tears X wind. In her second appearance, her constume changed making her more mature looking and more beautiful, but in the story of Shining Tears X Wind, there were no indications that she was a princess and an Elven Queen was in the story(I think her name was Celestia). Sadly, in the anime, the drawings are not so good as in the game and in Tony's art works(T2 Artworks). And lastly she grew a year older.
Now, we go with the images of my figures ;D Btw, sorry if the images are not so good, I'm only using my Nokia 6600 as my camera
First up is the latest 1/8 Scale Pre-painted Figure Elwing by Kotobukiya. I bought this at GT Taft.
Here are the images of the box art.(Click for larger view)
Box Dimensions:
Base - 132x132mm
Height - 253mm
Comments: Box Art is good, it's simple yet appealing to the eyes. Front Window is good, you can see the figure very well. Side windows are a bit small, but I like the shape. Back View contains personal data. How I wish I could read Japanese. ;D Lastly, maybe they should have made the box just like Kureha's box(1st Shining Wind Figure by Kotobukiya) so that Elwing's bow can also be placed on her hands while inside the box and buying a display case is just an option.
Now for some images of the figure itself.^^
(Click for Larger View)
Dimension:
Height - 210mm
Size Comparison
1. With 1/7 Scale Painted Figure Elwing by Max Factory
2. With Elwing Figure by Max Factory and MG Gundam Destiny EBM
Comments:
Actually, it's almost perfect... The only thing that I don't like much is the position of her feet...
I really like how her hair sways with the swing of her head and body.
::)Kotobukiya enhanced one of Elwing's @sset...lol ;D(Ouch! Hey!*Elwing Hits me with her bow*)
I really like her face, everytime I see her, it feels like she's saying "welcome back" or "Hi there"XD
Have you noticed that Kotobukiya's version of Elwing is a bit chubby?? XD Hehe..(Ah!!!*Elwing's pulling my ear*)
Here's a link from HLJ for some clearer images:www.hlj.com/product/KBYPP-222
I'll be posting a review later for my first Elwing Figure by Maxfactory. ^^
Btw, the skirt of Elwing Figure by Kotobukiya can be removed... I won't be posting any images of it. Lol!!!
Thanks for viewing^^
