Sorry, new here. Did they ever come out with a VF-1S skull leader with strike armor in 1/48 scale? I know there's a 1/48 roy fokker version, but no correct armor to be found. I can't seem to find one on the net, even when thats one of the most popular variants. Also, i noticed not there aren't that many fans of the 1/48 scale as opposed to the 1/60. Isn't bigger better? I'm only planning to get a 1/48 so i can't really have an opinion for it aside from the sheer size looks awesome.

im not sure about it but i know that the 1J variants (hikaru, max & miriya, stealth super/strike) are the only 1/48 VF-1 units that were released as a package.
unfortunately you could say the 1/48 were "the best of its time". however with the release of the new 1/60 versions the 1/48 fanbase is slowly decreasing.
big is nice, but price and better detailing works a lot better for some people especially with the economy these days..

They released the 1/48 super/strike parts separately. Strange, considering they did release the old and new 1/60 VF-1S with super/strike parts as a package.

thats because its relatively smaller compared to the 1/48.
heck, the boxes for the 1J super stealth/max/miriya versions were like two "basic" 1/48 boxes glued together.

1/48 VF-1S Hikaru was released in a bundle with the Strike and Super FAST Pack Parts as a TRU Japan exclusive, but they were just the original individually boxed releases packaged in a dinky TRU box.
