To sum it with one word AWESOME!
Contents:
#4 arm armors
#4 arm cannons
#2 double barrel cannons (attaches to the fore arms)
#2 foot modules
#1 radar dish that splits into #2 ankle guards (with die-cast hydraulic parts)
#2 fists
#1 collapsable electro static laser rifle
# 2 visors (SL and Universe versions (can't tell the difference though)
Description:
In the original Superion, the limbs/vehicles were interchangeable, same with the SL/Universe verion but FP did some "unofficial" transform modes with the "Raptors" putting them as the arm modules while the "A-10 Tank killers" are now the permanent feet.
A little bit of a back ground (my version is the SL Superion) but the figure kind off sucked. Despite awesome individual molds, the use of two Raptors and A10 tank smashers instead of another vehicle/plane kind off spoiled it. Plus, WTF happened to his hands? Oh, I remember some dude reviewing the Superion giving it a pass asin the guy was an alien bot so he doesn't need hands (the five finger type) and feet.
And the design of the hip made Superion do the splits when posing which was remedied when you alternately assigned different jets as arms and legs) (sadly, given the new arm and leg assignments, Superion again does the splits.)
Back to the upgrade............
Fans Project, you ROCK! The materials you use are top notch, reminding me of the materials used on Bandai's MGs.............especially on the Alex NT-78 armor. That's how good it is.
When pics of him first circulated, I was wondering if Superion had a visor (as depicted in the anime and the Superlink biocard) well look no further he's got two (one for Superlink and the other for the Universe version which for the love of heaven I just can't tell apart.) Bravo FP!
Next the fists, hands down almost gundamesque...........Bravo FP
Some accessories though, namely the arm cannons, though adequate on the anterior side of the forearms, was lacking in the posterior........leaving him with a big hole (easily overlooked though.) Another thing, did I fail to mention they all fit snugly to each component?
Next the foot pads which was smartly designed with the "radar" dish in mind. After splitting the "dish" into 4 parts, they are then connected to the foot boards as "ankle" guards, with a simulated hydraulic part.
No parts goes wasted as the two double barreled artillery canons fit snugly on the shin.
He also has a collapsible electro static rifle reminiscent of the G1 weapon used by Silverbolt.
Over all I give this a 4 out of 5. Given that the original IMHO was kind of blahh with his no hand and feet mode, FP has all but revived my loving my 5 year old figure again. Just like the way CC sparked renewed interest in the Universe UM mold which was all but ignored in place of Skywarp.
