My latest impulse buy:

SIC Vol. 21 Kamen Rider Amazon and Jungler



Daisuke Yamamoto was the sole survivor of a plane crash in the Amazon rainforest. He was raised by an Inca tribe as a wild child with the name of "Amazon". One day, the Ten-Faced Demon Gorgos attacks the village in search for the GiGi Armlet. Elder Bago, the last of the tribe, hands the GiGi Armlet to Amazon and performs an operation on him turning him into a "kaizo ningen" (modified human), and giving him the power to transform into Kamen Rider Amazon (also known as "Amazon Rider")



The Jungler is Amazon's personal motorcycle, given to him by Tobei Tachibana (who also provided the bikes for the past Kamen Riders). At first, Amazon was afraid of motorcycles due to culture shock, but was helped by Tachibana to overcome his fears.

I'd say I'm really happy I didn't hesitate on getting this one since this is one of the first few SIC sets that I really wanted. I know this piece set me back a few gran, but it was all worth it considering I also got this with a huge discount. Amazon is my favorite Showa Era Kamen Rider (yeah I know I really have a huge appreciation for the weird and least liked Riders) besides Kamen Rider Black so it's really a nice treat to have this.

For some quick pros and cons:

PROS:
- superb detailing on both Amazon and Jungler, and the latter is pretty big too!
- very striking SIC rendition, really fits Amazon's concept
- good amount of diecast
- Amazon has no problem riding the bike whatsoever
- comes with as much accessories as applicable to Amazon

CONS:
- Amazon lacks some posability (given that this is a SIC Classics 2007 reissue)
- Amazon's scarf is tattered on all sides, so don't fiddle with it too much or you risk wrecking the whole thing.

C.O.R.M. (Cast-Off Rider Machine) DX Gatack Extender





The gripping hands used by the figure for holding the Gatack Calibur are too small (can't grip the bike handles), so you'd have to rely on the opened hands for the riding display. Aesthetically wise, it doesn't look bad. I liked it so much that I displayed mine that way, despite me saying before that "SHF figures being displayed while riding bikes is a waste of their posability".

What's good with the CORM DX Gatack Extender is that it also has a Cast-Off feature, turning the Gatack Extender in it's "EX Mode", which is like a floating surfboard.


"Extend Rider Drop!"


I'd say this is really an awesome figure especially if paired with the Gatack Extender. I love how the swords can fit into the shoulders so you don't have much extra unused accessories. The metallic design of the Rider is also a nice treat and there's plenty of neat detaiing. Articulation is still top notch as expected of Bandai's SH Figuarts line.

what did you use as Armed Hibiki's base body again?

@gn-009 I was able to buy a loose Ibuki body before and I used that for the Armed Hibiki's body.

Adding my newest buy:

SIC Kiwami Tamashii Hibiki Kurenai (Tamashii Nations '09 Autumn Exclusive)

Good points:
- exclusive, but still within reach due to its price.
- superb posability despite the very small size.
- new miniature Disc Animal so it's not just a direct recolor (yeah right Bandai)
- very shiny red and silver paint!

Bad points:
- they used softer plastic for the drumsticks.
- minor paint bleeds.

Nonetheless I still like this a lot and is really recommended for fans of the Hibiki series or if you love the SIC Kiwami Tamashii line so much. Thanks for looking!

Wasn't planning to update my but since I've gotten lots of surplus stuff I decided to do so to avoid a bigger inventory update in the long run.

And here's what I bought for myself this Christmas:

DX Kamen Rider Kuuga TryGouram

This is basically a DX set of the TryChaser 2000 (Kuuga's personal bike) and the Battle Gouram which becomes a power up for the TryChaser 2000. Both items come with very good diecast content and is compatible with the Souchaku Henshin / SH Figuarts Kamen Rider Kuuga. If you own an SH/SHF Kuuga then you really owe yourself getting one of these. It is what makes Kuuga a Kamen Rider, after all.

First of all, some pics of Kuuga and TryChaser 2000:



Battle Gouram is able to open its wings and has some articulation on his arms. He's basically a little smaller than the DX Gatack Zecter. Also comes with a cool flight stand.

Now, for some pics of Battle Gouram and the resulting combination with TryChaser 2000:

Here's a quick look back at the good and bad points:

GOOD:
- hefty diecast content (yes, the bike might be looking just like that until you handle it yourself)
- very well detailed
- working suspension (also necessary for the TryGouram mode)
- compatible with SH/SH Figuarts figures
- looks awesome with Kuuga (like I said, you owe yourself getting one if you have an SH/SHF Kuuga)
- included flight stand for Battle Gouram even if the main gimmick is the combination with TryChaser 2000.

BAD:
- gold parts might be prone to paint damage
- rear antennae of TryChaser 2000 might be bent in packaging (be sure to look out for this)
- lack of stabilizer in TryGouram mode considering the overall weight of the bike. You have to collapse the suspension in this mode so the bike stand won't work unless you're okay with either front or rear wheel not on the surface (or you can take a small block piece and place in under the bike for a makeshift stand).

Really an awesome bike. And for the third and last time, get this if you own an SH/SHF Kuuga!

This bike is basically meant for the COR (Cast-Off Rider) toyline which features action figures from the Masked Rider Kabuto series that have their armors popping off with the press of a switch. With a few modifications (which is basically removing the big foot rests and the seat connector), this bike can easily accommodate the Souchaku Henshin and SH Figuarts scale. In fact, the scale of the SH/SHF figures are more suited to this compared to the bigger, bulkier COR figures.




And very much like in the show, there is a switch at the back of the bike which pops off the armor of the Kabuto Extender, showing its EX mode (which I kind find a little too meh).

Ground Form

This figure is somewhat a love-hate for me, might be because he really lacks a lot of extra hands, plus his bike is an exclusive item which is really needed to add some spice to this figure. Really love the intricate details on it though.

Time for my latest buy:

S.H.Figuarts Ex Machine Tornador
(Tamashii Web Exclusive)


Finally got my hands on this exclusive bike for Kamen Rider Agito. Machine Tornador was once released before by Bandai for the Souchaku Henshin series and now they have revamped the toy for the SH Figuarts line and released it as a Tamashii Web Exclusive.



The bike is perfect for the SH Figuarts figure and it features great paint finish and sculpting. It does have some weight to it though I can't point where the metal is actually placed. Nonetheless it is light enough for Agito to support it with his foot. Really great for displays!



And one of the most known features of Machine Tornador is its "Slider Mode" where it becomes a hovercraft for Agito. Agito can use this to boost up his Rider Kick finisher, penetrating even the toughest of enemy Unknown armor. The Slider Mode of this toy features a hole where you can place Tamashii stand parts to support Agito in posing.





And furthermore, it comes with a custom Tamashii stage base which features the Agito logo that appears underneath his feet just before doing his Rider Kick.

I do like the SIC version but since I'm more of an SHFiguarts fan I decided to go the extra mile and get this instead even if the SIC would give more bang for my buck. Great paint finish, great details, and a nice gimmick for maximum playability really make this worth its price. It will really be good for your SHF Kamen Rider Agito since the figure alone is lacking a lot of appeal on display.

SIC Kiwami Tamashii Kamen Rider Todoroki & Zanki

Really couldn't think much about poses this time so I decided to have around 10 shots or so. For some reason the left knee of my Todoroki figure is quite loose and the guitar's fretboard is a little too crooked. Dunno if I got the luck of the draw QC-wise or Kiwami Tamashiis have dropped in quality. Zanki's doing awesome though and I really hope that Bandai releases Ibuki and Armed Hibiki soon enough.

Decided to borrow the grip hands that came with my SH Figuarts Machine Tornador and gave them to my SH Figuarts KR Black. I took some photos with my SH EX Battlehopper (which I bought last year with the Souchaku Henshin KR Black) which is basically a bike where you can swap armors for either Battlehopper or Acrobatter. I decided to have this displayed alongside my SH Figuarts KR Black since the upcoming SH Figuarts version of Battlehopper is much more expensive for only a few changes in detail and a display stand.

I'd say this is really a worthy buy considering you can have it either configured as Battlehopper or Acrobatter and still cheaper than the upcoming SHF exclusive versions.

I just love the set to bits. I like the fact that Bandai decided to release these guys even as exclusives rather than not releasing them at all. These four Onis never appeared in the Kamen Rider Hibiki series (with the exception of Shoki who appeared as a human) but I really love the concept they made for them especially the unique weapon sets they wield. There is lesser diecast content on these four figures but then that is understandable because I think Bandai isn't hoping to earn much from selling four characters that never appeared in the show, plus the fact that their bigger weapons would make the poses just sag to the weight. Nonetheless, I believe that this is a must buy for fans of the Hibiki series or the really hardcore SIC fans.

Time for my weekend update:

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Black RX

What I can say is that this is a good SHF release, with the usual articulation and a good hand set. However the articulation goes a little less in the neck and waist area due to the sculpt so it's not really one of the best releases. Though you can spice him up by giving him a bike, which I did. Presenting the Souchaku Henshin EX Acrobatter (I prefer this over the SHF release because it's cheaper and doesn't really detract much from the SHF version's appearance)








And here's my second SHF buy of the week. Bought this on impulse but didn't regret it coz it's d@mn good!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gills










What can I say? This figure is just AWESOME. It comes with every accessory related to Gills, and the articulation is just superb, as you can see. It can perfectly recreate Gills' "Exceed Heel Claw" finisher move which is really a big plus for this figure. The only cons I could see would be the small parts which might be easily lost so better have a zip-lock bag at hand for his accessories.
