Other than the ones mentioned in other threads this is the only trick I know that works without too much sanding and all...
This item will remove paint on any material without harming it. Plastics modelers in FSM use this a lot because it doesn't harm the plastic like thinners does and less invasive than sanding.
However efficacy of this material is not as reliable in all types of paint, it's what you can say a hit or miss. I've tried it with enamels and acrylic with great results however spray paints I haven't tried yet.
It's called "Easy Off Grill and Oven Cleaner" it's about 250 petot a spray can and it has a nasty smell when applied. You will have to spray the entire thing with it and wait until it eats the paint away (read label first) then wash with soap and water. Sometimes you will need to repeat the procedure or use a toothbrush to reach those stubborn areas like gaps.
As i said this is a hit or miss on the spray paint part so use it at your own expense.
If you really want to use the sanding method, wait for a week after the paint has been applied. This way the paint has settled properly and will come off easier than fresh paint (noted from Scale Auto Enthusiast painting guide).
