Metal Tech 02 : Grendizer Giru Giru

Hmm makes me think about tracking down the Metal Tech 01 Grendizer (6" scale, $55) to pair up with this bad boy.

Since we never started a thread for the Metaltech 01 Grendizer, here's a quick rundown on the Metal Tech o1 Grendizer.

The scale almost works well with Yamato's old Hero Collection Mazinger, Great Mazinger and Getters.








The toys is well built, the joints are almost all ratcheted. The legs and torso are diecast. So it plays out something along the lines of a diecast revoltech of sorts. The figure weighs roughly 220 Grams



Unfortunately, there are some paint quality control issues on my unit.

A word of caution!
It seems the peg connecting the Harkens isn't as strong as one would think. The pegs snapped off on mine when I was disconnecting them I tried writing an Email through High Dream's website requesting a replacement but they didn't write back. Sigh..

I took this pic prior to the break to show the peg, I didn't think it would be the last time I'd see it intact.





That problem aside, this one is a good Grendizer figure. I'm definitely picking up the next Metaltech release.

The next release will be the Metal Tech 01+. An add-on set with only the Spacer and the Metal Tech 02 Giru Giru (Grendizer enemy)

That General Blaki Mothership looks good but expect it to be somewhat small. Shipping weight is 2 pounds, while the waterfall base is closer to 3 pounds and I've seen the actual waterfall base and it's smaller than the Duke Fleed cockpit (no idea about the diecast content of the base though)


That coin bank looks good too, wonder if it will look as nice next to the Mazinger SOP head?
