Hey guys. I'm gonna buy my 1st MG RX 78 and it since there are a lot of versions already made for this gundam, im kind of torn between the pros and cons of each version. Could you please help me decide which version is the best.
Im assuming that ver2.0 will have the best articulation and frame design since it's the latest but the panel design of OYW and ver ka are just more intricate, although OYW has no transformable core. and 1.5 is based on the PG frame design. If i can only buy them all, problem solved. But that's not gonna happen.
By the way, mods, if there's an existing thread for this already please direct me to that and feel free to delete this one. THanks!

It seems you already know the difference between OYW, ver 1.5 and ver 2.0... Its really up to you now to decide which one suits your taste best.
As for me, 2.0. More anime accurate.

ver.ka for me since i love katoki designs.
but for sheer posability while maintaining the "general standard" design, the OYW series is best.

ver 2.0 for me. simple yet elegant design.
Fingers and feet has PG like articulation and even the head has its own inner frame.
Seamlines are non-existent except for the handles in the bazooka, hammer and javelin (yes only the weapons has seamlines).
Exterior armor may be simple but if you do mods or are planning to do so in the future this kit has endless possibilities.
Interior armor is well engineered and has lots of movable pistons (4 in the feet, 4 in the legs, 2 in the chest, 4 in the arms and 1 in the neck.)

I also like the Ver. 2 one since its simple and anime accurate on the outside but highly detailed on the inside. ;D Plus BANDAI issued the ver. 2 with 1 extra clear color sprue if you would like to display it with clear armor parts.

ver. OYW since its more versatile when it comes to posability. i like the anime-design of ver 2.0 but the more kick arse version for me is the OYW. ;D

for me its the version 2 for its advancement in everything and it has a core fighter.. though in design.. OYW takes my vote coz it really looks bad a$$ being bulky and brute..

Ver. K.A. - flawless design, no core fighter, minimal articulation
Ver. 2.0 - Retro look, great articulation. weapon galore
Ver. OYW anime color scheme - Modernize look, no core fighter, great articulation
OYW gets my vote...

after snap building ver 2.0... it gets my vote on the INTERNAL details and mechanisms... but for the EXTERNAL details I'd go for OYW (both Anime and PS2 covers)...
OYW for me
but ver2.0 has lots of possibilities because you have more room to modify its over all look.. plus the G FIGHTER... IMHO get both...

For me its a tie between the ver. Ka and the ver. 2.0
Ver. Ka
Pros:
Good looks, very simple but still has the feel of ver Ka kits
Decals! (Might be a good or a bad thing)
Cons:
Articulation isn't too good. It pretty much a kit solely intended for a static pose
Weapons lack the Gundam Hammer and Beam Javelin
Incomplete inner-frame
Seam lines usually show off on the sides of the armors
ver 2.0
Pros:
Complete weapons
PG-like inner frame
Great articulation
Cons:
Simple appearance...pretty much meh out-of-the-box
Proportions are a bit off in my taste

I have the V1 G3 which is identical in everything other than the color (I think) and it's still one of the Gundams in the first set of MG kits released which so far has withstand all other Gundam kits I have in storage. The sturdy plastic is better than the rubbery feel in other MG kits... like GP01...
I suggested the V2 because I want an anime accurate model and it got me sold on this kit.

ver2.0 for me..it's a cam sleeper.. love taking pics of that gundam. it can bend its knees and the articulation in its feet is amazing
but i would like to have a O.Y.W version someday coz of the exteriors gotta love those panel lines..
