not sure if there are combat sports enthusiasts here. but hey, boxing is a combat sport and our very own Pacman leads the pack, currently ranking no. 1 in the world. But as we all know, the mayweather-pacquiao fight will not happen, and as a fan, i am really dissapointed. meanwhile in UFC 109, Chael Sonnen upsets contender prospect Nate Marquardt. Watch out for that name - Chael Sonnen. i think he's the real deal. yes he talks a lot of trash to his opponents but he is fun to watch in the octagon. and what do Pacman and Chael have in common? they are both in to politics

I love MMA, even URRC (other than the bad camera shots and time conflict) where you can see moves you can rarely see on UFC... I only managed to catch the main event in full because there was timing conflicts... I love watching MMA over boxing because it's more contact sports and really see how strong the fighters are and who can fight up to 5 rounds... Mayweather was just full of hot gas... If he really wanted to fight Pacman to prove his point (that he's the pound for pound king) and his father's point (that Pacman uses drugs); then why hesitate for a bout when Pacman agreed to their demands? He probably hates what will come out on magazines when Pacman wins... ;D

nice to have an MMA fan here! do we have Filipino MMA fighter in UFC or WEC or Strikeforce? Other than Vera i mean.
interesting how mayweather and mosley fight will go. i kinda imagine gayweather will go punch, punch, punch and run away and that will win him a decision. i just hope that mosley will catch him and put his a** on the canvas.

Vitor Belfort pulled out from the title match against Anderson Silva on UFC 112 due to shoulder injury. Dana White said Silva will remain on the card but as to his opponent, no news yet.
Chael Sonnen, the current no. 1 contender is still under medical suspension due to injuries from the last fight against Nate Marquardt so he is definitely not an option.

Well I believe there's new Fil-Am bloods in UFC but finding their names is one thing... for a few I found Tito Jones – MMA fighter Robbie Lawler – MMA fighter (Strikeforce) (last fight: Strikeforce Miami, win) Troy Mandaloniz – MMA fighter (UFC) (last fight: UFC 95, loss) Mark Muñoz – MMA fighter (UFC) (last fight: UFC 108, win) Phillipe Nover – MMA fighter (UFC) (last fight: UFC 109, loss) Brandon Vera – MMA fighter (UFC) (last fight: UFC 105, loss) Ditto

Mark Munoz was on Big Nog's corner at UFC 110. i think he is the next best thing on that Pinoy list after Vera.
i could not resits UFC 110 so i did PPV. overall it was a good card. Silva won against Bisping. i just love it when a big mouth fighter gets it. hehe
Cain V is for real! watchout Brock!

Pacman wins! yey! well, that one wasnt much of a fight. other than Clottey showing his dancing skills and Pacman doing a two-hand punch, it was one guy blocking and the other one punching. That was basically the story of the fight. Next fight, lets find out on May 1! In the meantime, lets celebrate by having chicken for dinner

Not quite I was expecting from Clottey in that fight... although the most interesting move Manny did was the double hand punch... ;D which the ref didn't like the humor... ;D It's no wonder that Manny is'nt quite ready to retire after this fight... I can see the weight class fighter strength but not the action... According to Inquirer Sports there must have been a leak of Pacquio's strategy from his sparring partner... sports.inquirer.net/professional/professional/view/20100318-259314/Roach-says-fight-plan-may-have-been-leakedIn that case, no wonder Clottey was well aware and looks like trying to look for a chance to use his technique, if any... Yup May 1 is the date we'll all see who Manny could be fighting next.

hehe, even Manny had a good smile on that punch. Before that bout, i did not know that was an illegal punch. now i know.
but it sure looks funny. I think he learned that from FPJ. hehe

It probably wasn't illegal, but unusual in a professional fight... And Mayweather really is confident he'll win on May because in the latest, he's already expecting Manny to get a full drug test in the US... I just wonder why he's so adamant in this idea, he's probably the one using drugs that's why... Anyhoo Here's a little tutorial from Frank Shamrock that would be very valuable when needed... I don't really get into fights since grade school but this could really come in handy... savetube couldn't grab it...www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIZQAF4YtqsAnd a good explanation about chokehold. You can only see it if you sign in though because of recent events around the world where young people use this technique as a "new high" (known as the "Fainting or Choking Game" ) which resulted in numerous deaths since they don't really know the risks behind the chokehold... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6c61D0CEh0Here's Wiki for the Choking Game en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choking_game

Shane Carwin dominated Frank Mir in UFC111.
He is now 12-0. all 12 ending in the first round. and he is doing that as a part time fighter and full time engineer!
